Due to the demand from members in the Skype JuiceStorm Trading room it makes sense to write a short guide on how to trade the Front Runner Focus selections with a bot. Simply, set and forget.
The first step is to download Rade’s great software here. Make sure you download Bf Bot Manager V3 for Betfair NG-API.
Home is the first ribbon tab page within Bf Bot Manager V3. It shows basic information about your account and offers you essential options for controlling the software.
Select the Auto Load Markets button and set as below.
Set the button to switch between simulation and real mode.
Next, move along the ribbon to Strategies, click and you will see Import Tips From File.
Last week we tried using Download From URL and by following me at TippingSports to lock and load the trades. The two options below Import Tips From File. I will now be posting the file to download daily in the Skype JuiceStorm Trading room which we have found the most reliable method to load your trades. The other two methods will now cease.
To get the trades which will mirror the daily selections in the Front Runner Focus simply check in to the Skype JuiceStorm Trading room around lunchtime. Look for the file that has been uploaded by me which starts FRF followed by a number. Download it and click Import Tips From File.
Now, you’re nearly ready.
To make the trades fire you need a Strategy. Download it here. Doing NOTHING with it. Do NOT unzip it. You do NOT need to. Click Import Strategies – picture above – locate the file where you saved it and import it. Then, as if by magic, in BfBotManager V3 you will see a Strategy called Front Runner Focus in Strategies below. It’s the one that is ticked. 🙂
It won’t be started. So start it. That’s it.
Finally, it’s always reassuring to know that everything looks right. Why not click Manage Tips in the second image above? That will show the trades which we have for the day are loaded and ready to rock. It should look like the one below. If the markets are not showing their ID or anything is missing it is probably because you did not select the Auto Load Markets button and set as in the first image above.
It’s also useful to look at the above image on the right in the ribbon. Click Tools and Settings. Check that you’re happy with them. I’m not going to go in to them here because the defaults might change over time. They’re pretty self explanatory. But if you’re having a problem with the bot not firing then the answer might be there.
BfBotManager V3 is an amazing piece of kit and if you want to dig into it then get yourself over there because Rade has a very comprehensive manual which covers everything in far more detail than I can here.
Take a look through the Front Runner Focus Strategy settings. Change them if you wish. Call it something else. Share your changed version with a new name in the Skype JuiceStorm Trading room. Nobody has a monopoly on good ideas. What I can tell you is that it has been profitable with the current settings for many months. For me. Will it be for you? Please let everyone know in the Skype JuiceStorm Trading room. See you there!
Bot Update
The FRF1 file will continue to be uploaded daily in the Skype JuiceStorm Trading room but if you copy and paste:-
https://juicestorm.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/INSERT MONTH IN 2 DIGITS/FRF1.csv
in to Strategies > Manage Tips > Tips Auto Loading > URL then trades will be automatically loaded every day without any intervention. Change INSERT MONTH IN 2 DIGITS. An example is for October INSERT MONTH IN 2 DIGITS would be changed to 10 if the current month is October.
A simple video explaining how to get yourself set up on BfBotManager V3 was produced by Bill from the Skype JuiceStorm Trading room. It’s below. Many thanks Bill. 😉
The Front runner Focus Strategy has a default stake of £0.20 so it cannot do any serious damage. If you are using simulation mode to get familiar with it then consider increasing it to a stake size you would usually trade with. Please also bear in mind that if you are trading at below £2 the way all trading software works for bets below Betfair minimum is that it will treble the actions required by the bot. This is a reason why trades at that level may not match due to volatility. The money is no longer available. The live stake size is individual for everyone. Stay in your comfort zone.
Please bear in mind that the bot can only work with the data that Betfair provides. Price and availability varies dozens of time per second. Matching what you see on screen is only possible if more money enters the market at the same price. What you see has mostly already gone. This is another reason why the bot is set to take a price which is between 2 and 10 ticks worse than it actually sees in an effort to guarantee a match. But even that doesn’t always work.
Sometimes a trade is not hedged. This sucks. Shit happens. It shouldn’t. I view it as just the cost of doing business which sometimes will wipe out more than a day’s profit.
If you would like to trade horses above 20 then try FRF50 which will back horses up to 50 and follow the same strategy as the standard Front Runner Focus strategy. Please bear in mind that duplicate bets will be placed if the horse is trading at 20 or below at zero seconds to the off. To avoid that simply edit the strategy by changing the Selections Condition price to between 20 and 50.
