La Liga Football Betting Tips

Andy

La Liga continues this weekend and, as always, we’ve got the best of the action covered.

Friday 7th December 2018

Leganes v Getafe

Not a game that we would generally look at, but it is a local derby and could provide a little value. The two have only met twice in the top flight with a 0-0 draw and a 2-1 away win for Getafe the results. There is no doubt that Getafe are the better team and have lost just one in six, and just once away from home. Leganes have also found a bit of form with just one loss in seven after an awful start and have lost just the one at home. With Getafe often settling for a point away from home, four draws in seven there is a high likelihood of a draw here so trading correct scores around 0-0 and 1-1 may pay dividends.

Saturday 8th December 2018

Espanyol v Barcelona

Espanyol should have been approaching this derby in top form having been unbeaten in six, but they have lost their last three games and as such Barcelona will strongly fancy their chances. Barca have been playing well, but without putting sides away comfortably and are far from the finished article. This fixture throws up an interesting recent stat and one that many of you will probably not want to play. Three of the last four head to head at Espanyol ended Under 2.5 goals as did six of the last seven suggesting the home side really get up for this one. We have to chance under 2.5 goals at 2.30 with a view to trading.

Valencia v Sevilla

A game that is really difficult to call on both current form and on the stats. In the last eight head to head, four were Under and four were Over but four of the last five meetings today in Valencia were Over with the home side winning four of the five. In fact, Sevilla have not won at Valencia, in the league, since February 2012 so not the happiest of hunting grounds. Purely on current form, you would have to go with Sevilla, as they have lost just once in ten, but Valencia are very difficult to beat, particularly at home where they have lost just once, but they have drawn five from seven. With eight draws from fourteen games the percentage call here has to be another one especially with Sevilla drawing their last two away so once again trading correct scores around 2-2 and 1-1 may pay dividends.

Villarreal v Celta Vigo

Villarreal have won the last four meetings today and three of the last four head to head in Villarreal so not surprisingly are solid favourites here. Neither are in good form and the last time that Celta did win here was after eight matches unbeaten and they are a long way from that at present. Celta have conceded in all away games and Villarreal in their last eight matches and six of seven at home which leans me towards Both Teams To Score at 1.67 as possibly a safer option than backing the home side as Celta have scored on three of the last four visits.

Sunday 9th December 2018

Real Sociedad v Valladolid

This looks like one of those games that it may be best to keep simple. Three of the last four head to head were Over 2.5 goals but Valladolid have lost three of their last four and I think Sociedad will be too strong at 1.61.

Real Betis v Rayo Vallecano

This is a game that should have goals based on recent form with three of the last four Betis games going Over 2.5 goals and four of the last five Rayo games the same. Five of the last six head to head were also Over including the three at Betis which ended 2-2, 2-2 and 1-2. It has to be Over 2.5 goals at 1.61.
