Osasuna v Levante

The only recent meeting was a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at the end of September. Both sides sit in mid-table and Levante had been in a bit of form before the winter break. Osasuna have not won in five, Levante have lost four of their last six but have at least won the other two. Probably the safest option here is to lay Osasuna at 2.00 as a trading option.

Espanyol v Athletic Bilbao

In five recent head to head in Barcelona, Espanyol won three with two draws and four of the five were Under 2.5 goals. Current form suggests there is a high chance of a draw here, Bilbao have drawn their last four, but Espanyol managed a win last weekend, their first in ten. Lay Espanyol at 2.60 as a trading option.

Valencia v Barcelona

A new era for Barcelona under this new coach and it will be interesting to see what approach he adopts his philosophy is ultra-attacking football. That would possibly mean that the stats in this fixture may be irrelevant, four of the last five head to head in Valencia ended Under 2.5 goals, with three 1-1 draws, including the last two meetings today. On those stats, Under 2.5 goals at 2.50 is worth considering as a trading option.

Sevilla v Granada

Sevilla have won three of the last four head to head at home but lost the other one by 4-1! Three of the four were Over 3.5 goals. Sevilla gave Real a game last week and matched them in many areas, and Granada held out against Barcelona for 75 mins before Messi grabbed a winner. Sevilla to win and Over 2.5 goals at 2.20.

Sunday 26th January 2020

Atletico Madrid v Leganes

A local derby with seven recent meetings today, three draws and four wins for Atleti. In the three home games, Atletico have won all three to Nil. Both lost last weekend and Leganes have drawn three of their last four away games. Atletico are 1.33 to win which is probably right, but it might be worth chancing Over 2.5 goals here at 2.30 as Leganes have scored in seven of their last nine games including against Barcelona and Sevilla.

Celta Vigo v Eibar

The last four head to head have all been home wins to Nil. Celta have won three of the last four head to head at home. Eibar have won two of their last three, both at home with Celta drawing three of their last four. Celta might be worth chancing at 2.00 but it is not massive value and a better option to trade is Under 2.5 goals at 1.80.

Getafe v Real Betis

In recent seasons this has been a tight fixture with the seven recent head to head resulting in three Getafe wins, two Betis wins and two Draws. In the three meetings today in Madrid, one side failed to score and all three were won to Nil. Both have lost just two in ten and are up there with Real and Barcelona on current form. This really boils down to whether Betis’s recent goalscoring strength can break down Getafe’s strong defensive form. Under 2.5 goals at 1.66 is the clear option but it might be worth going with Under 1.5 goals at 3.00 to trade.

Real Sociedad v Mallorca

Sociedad won the only recent head to head back in August with a 1-0 win in Mallorca but have lost their last two. Mallorca have struggled to find any form in recent weeks but beat Valencia 4-1 last week although they have yet to win away. A game that we should probably leave alone but if you must play, Lay the draw.

Valladolid v Real Madrid

Only three recent head to head with the two drawing 1-1 in Madrid back in August, two late goals. Madrid won 4-1 in Valladolid in the only meeting there. Valladolid have drawn five of their last six and Real two of their last three away. Real are short enough at 1.44 away from home and Valladolid could frustrate them so a small Lay with a view to trading out, is the best play here.
