La Liga Football Tips

Nice to see the Spanish season back and it could be an interesting fight for the title and the relegation places. We have an interesting few weeks ahead.

Sevilla v Real Betis

The Seville Derby and a cracking way to get up and running, although Derby games will be slightly different with no crowds. Sevilla have had the better of recent encounters, winning five of the last eight and one draw. At home they have won four of the last five, but Betis won the other by 5-3. Betis had gone six games without a win before beating Real Madrid 2-1 and this break may have come at the wrong time for them as that win would have made confidence high. Sevilla had lost just one in seven, ending with a 2-2 draw away at Atletico and were clearly flying high.  Sevilla at 1.83 will be popular, but this is a Derby and I prefer Both Teams to Score at 1.70.

Sevilla 41% Over 2.5 goals   22% Over 3.5 goals

Real Betis 67% Over 2.5 goals   30% Over 3.5 goals

Valencia v Levante

Valencia have won the last five meetings at home 3-1, 3-1, 3-0, 3-0 and 2-0. This is also a local Derby and Levante have not fared too well recently. In the last eight meetings, six have gone Over 2.5 goals, including the last four with Both Teams Scoring in the last five. Valencia were not in great form before the break, winning one in five and Levante had only won two of their last nine. Home advantage should make the difference but Over 2.5 goals at 1.66 is a better option as it gives us better trading outs.

Valencia 48% Over 2.5 goals   22% Over 3.5 goals

Levante 59% Over 2.5 goals   22% Over 3.5 goals

Mallorca v Barcelona

Only one relevant recent head to head and Barcelona won 5-2 back in December. Mallorca have had a poor season, but they did win two and drew one of their last four games. Barcelona won four of their last five, the loss being 2-0 at Real Madrid.  It is not very original to say Barca will win and there may not be a huge amount of goals, but they should be able to give up 1 goal, so -1 on the handicap at 1.91 is worth a small interest.

Mallorca 48% Over 2.5 goals   26% Over 3.5 goals

Barcelona 67% Over 2.5 goals   48% Over 3.5 goals

Espanyol v Alaves

If you are struggling to sleep this game could possibly help you. In seven recent head to head at this level, five were Under 2.5 goals and five were Under 1.5 goals. Espanyol have won two of the three games at home, but they had been in poor form winning just one of their last seven games. Alaves were in much better shape, they had lost just one of their last six. The most likely result is a low scoring draw or a narrow win for Alaves, so logic dictates a Lay of Espanyol at around 2.20.

Espanyol 48% Over 2.5 goals   22% Over 3.5 goals

Alaves 41% Over 2.5 goals   11% Over 3.5 goals

Athletic Bilbao v Atletico Madrid

Five of the last six head to head have finished in home wins. The goals stats are not relevant with the last eight meetings ending in Four Over and Four Under 2.5 goals. Bilbao had not won in ten but looked to have turned the corner, winning their last two matches and Atletico had not lost in five. Atleti have won three and drawn one of their last five trips to Bilbao. Neither side is prolific in the Overs goals statistics with Bilbao at 7% the lowest side in Over 3.5 goal matches. This should be tight, and it is easy to see one goal settling it. Lay Bilbao at 3.30 as a trading angle.

Athletic Bilbao 26% Over 2.5 goals   7% Over 3.5 goals

Atletico Madrid 26% Over 2.5 goals   19% Over 3.5 goals

Real Sociedad v Osasuna

Only three recent head to head and Sociedad have won all three, with two of the games Over 4.5 goals. Sociedad had been in good form with four wins from their last five games and Osasuna had been out of form, losing four of their last six. Sociedad are in pole position for a Champions League place and at 1.73 they can be backed with a view to taking your stake back if they lead.

Real Sociedad 67% Over 2.5 goals   26% Over 3.5 goals

Osasuna 44% Over 2.5 goals   33% Over 3.5 goals

Real Madrid v Eibar

Four wins and a draw for Real in the last five games against Eibar at home and Real have won five of the last six overall head to head. Those last six head to head were all Over 2.5 goals and that might be the best option as Real had won only one of four before the break, however Eibar had lost four of their last five. Take a chance on Real Madrid to win and both teams to score at around 2.60.

Real Madrid 48% Over 2.5 goals   33% Over 3.5 goals

Eibar 56% Over 2.5 goals   19% Over 3.5 goals

80% of private investors trade the wrong way and that is why they lose money trading. Worse still, they spend thousands with “teachers” – mostly charlatans who have been sacked, failed in finance or are just internet marketers.
