Bayern have won the Bundesliga title for the last eight seasons and since the 2000/2001 season, Bayern have won fourteen of the twenty titles. In that same period, Dortmund have won three with single wins for Wolfsburg, Bremen and Stuttgart.

The recent performances by Bayern Munich will have seen the price shrink for the Bundesliga, and in truth their only serious rivals are once again Borussia Dortmund. Bayern have won seven and drawn one of their last ten league meetings today, so Dortmund will need to address that if they want to push Bayern close. As with La Liga, the chance to make money is probably the betting without markets and the top six finish options. Leipzig will be fancied by many, but the loss of Timo Werner may catch them out and there is better value to be had. If, as I do, you think that Leipzig are vulnerable, then to top four market offers a couple of decent prices in Leverkusen and Moenchengladbach. Despite looking likely to lose Kai Havertz, Leverkusen will strengthen with those funds, and at 7/4 look a solid bet to reach a top four finish. They have what looks like an easy start to the season and if they can win those first few games, confidence will grow. Schalke will be better this season, they could not be much worse and Hoffenheim, Frankfurt and Wolfsburg should also finish in the top half. Bielefeld are the most obvious candidates for relegation, although Stuttgart, the second promoted side could well have enough to stay up and the side I think will struggle are Union Berlin who struggled for goals last season and it could be the same again this time around. As with other leagues in Europe, fixtures will be a little more cramped this season so sides without European campaigns may fare slightly better. For that reason, do not dismiss Schalke in the top 6 finish market as things could easily pan out in their favour. The key for them is getting off to a decent start.
