Yesterday was poker day for me. So I fired up three tables at a popular poker site and went off in to the poker botosphere. Now, poker sites claim not to like bots. In fact, it’s against their terms and conditions. But what they really mean is they don’t like winning bots. But they can’t put that in their Ts and Cs, can they? If you lose – and most bots in the early days do – then the poker sites appreciate the liquidity. If you win they’ll take a view. And mostly close your account.
So let’s look at this for a moment. Losing bots provide liquidity and more rake for the poker site. Winning bots provide liquidity and more rake for the poker site and then they keep your winnings because you’ve broken the agreement you had with the poker site. It’s a win-win situation for the poker site. So how do you get round the issue of the poker site closing your account and keeping your hard earned bot winnings?
Well, I’ll cover that next week. Every site knows when you’re using a bot. Take that as gospel.

It’s a good tool for tells… and works fairly well at some sites. But… I can not get it to track a tournament properly at Cake poker… even though it tracks cash games there perfectly. I haven’t seen any help from poker-edge support… I have emailed screen shots etc… still no help from them. They told me I have a problem with my anti-virus software etc. So.. I emailed them screen shots of the software working at some sites I play at…. with the firewall-anti virus off.. and on… and Cash games at Cake with it off and on… and proved it doesn’t work properly for tracking tournaments at Cake. Oddly enough… it manages to pick up players coming and going from tables… but it doesn’t track very many.. if any… hands.
I don’t know if anyone else is having these problems… I would have to assume that some are at some site.
Sorry Tree, I’ve never used it at Cake. It drives me mad when these things don’t work out of the box. Good luck mate.
