The Euro 2020 Final will be fought out between England and Italy in what promises to be a ‘must-see’ clash.

Of course, England are yet to win this tournament, but Italy has past form having won the competition back in 1968, plus have also lost in two finals (2000 & 2012).

Both nations have certainly caught the eye during the event and head here with impressive unbeaten runs – England are now 12 games without a loss after getting by Denmark in extra-time in the Semi-final on Wednesday, while Italy come here on an incredible 33-game unbeaten run after seeing off Spain on penalties in their last game.

The current head-to-head record is tight, with 27 previous clashes – Italy just edge it with 10 wins, to England’s 8 and 9 draws. While the World FIFA rankings are tight too, with England in 4^th place and Italy in 7^th – both are sure to improve those positions after this game too.

These past records and the excellent current form of the sides is also reflected in the betting – it couldn’t be much closer. In the 90 mins match betting, England are 2.87, the Draw 3.00 and Italy 2.75, with the outright market reading Italy 2.00 and England 1.80.

It really is a ‘coin-flick’ kind of match, with strong cases to be made for both nations.

The last head-to-head between the sides was in 2018 and that ended 1-1, plus, in fact, the last two clashes ended with that score – you can back 1-1 at 6.50.

The goal player scoring markets will, of course be dominated by Harry Kane, who has netted 38 times for his country, and has now bagged four goals in this tournament – he’s 5.00 (1^st) or 2.50 (anytime), while Raheem Sterling is next best of the England players at 8.50 (1^st) or 4.00 (anytime).

The Italians current top scorers are Ciro Immobile and Andrea Belotti – both with 12 goals – Immobile is 6.50 (1^st) or 3.10 (anytime), while Belotti is 7.50 (1^st) or 3.60 (anytime).

Overall, it’s a fascinating game that will probably come down to a fine margin play or decision by one of the managers – Gareth Southgate or Roberto Mancini – we can expect the Italians to be hard to break down as they love defending and celebrate goal-saving just like they’ve scored at the other end.

But England do seem to have a depth to their squad now and Southgate has been finding that – barring injuries – leaving his starting 11 on for the bulk of the game and then having the option to war down the opposition late on with an array of talent from the bench – like Grealish, Sancho, Henderson, Bellingham Rashford and Foden – this could be the difference.

That said, you feel that if the Italians score the first goal, they will make it even harder for England to get back into the game and let’s not overlook the fact the last time they lost a game was in 2018 and 34 matches ago!

Overall, it’s a short price, but the safe call is to stick with UNDER 2.5 GOALS at 1.53 for those wanting to approach the game with a bit of caution. However, at a slightly better 2.10 we are going to take BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE at 2.10. This bet has paid out in ALL of the last four meetings today between the nations. Yes, both teams have solid defences too, but, in contrast, also have plenty of firepower up top to suggest the both teams to score option will give us a good run for our money.
