Initial Feedback on the Digitex Platform

The “Alpha” testers are on the exchange testnet.

It’s been seven days since the very first testers were given access to trade on the Digitex Futures testnet. Our dedicated Community Managers and some of Digitex’s closest supporters – including the founder of JuiceStorm.com – have been playing around with trading styles almost around the clock. We’re sending out more welcome emails and onboarding more testers gradually, too. So far, the feedback has been amazing.

Closed Testing of the Digitex Exchange

The first testers, the “Alpha” group, are officially on the exchange testnet! After such a long journey to get here, it’s hard to express how excited and proud we feel to finally share our hard work with the world. As you know, the public testnet launch is officially November 30, so we plan to have the first 10K onboarded by that date.

If you’re among the top 10K, keep your eyes open for your email and be sure to check your spam box, too, in case your invite gets misplaced.

In the meantime, closed testing prior to the public launch is essential in order to make the testnet as effective as possible. The Alpha testers are fortunate to be on the platform first, but they’re also going to be the ones that find more bugs. As we’ve been urging them to remember, this is a testnet. They have to expect screen freezes, periods of downtime as developers implement upgrades, and a few abnormalities here and there.

The job of the Alpha testers isn’t to come in and wax lyrical about how incredible and game-changing the exchange is. We already know that it will be when we’re ready to get to the mainnet. But we also understand, we haven’t reached that point just yet. Our Alpha testers understand that their help is required to report bugs, offer feedback, make suggestions, and share their experiences.

A very big thank you to them for all the time and effort they put in!

As Adam said, “It’s so amazing to have real people on the exchange and playing around and testing. We’re making updates to the exchange every day based on feedback and what we’re seeing ourselves, just getting more and more excited about the mainnet launch… although there’s still some way to go.”

Overwhelmingly Positive Feedback So Far

Bugs aside, the feedback has been astounding so far, and we couldn’t be happier at these initial stages. Definitely, the main comments are centered on the trading ladder and how “addictive” it is.

One early tester told us, “My experience with the closed testnet version of the Digitex Futures exchange has been great so far. I tried to place only a few orders at first and tried to gain some DGTX just by going in and out all the time with one tick wins. After several trades, I was up 1000 DGTX. To be honest… it is very addictive!”

Another Alpha tester enthused, “It’s very addictive to do. When I trade on other exchanges, it’s really not that easy to trade, with Digitex, it’s a simple mouseclick! It’s very easy to use.”

Other upbeat reactions have been related to how much people are enjoying trying their hand at scalping. We’ve heard comments like, “This scalping is growing on me, man,” “short term scalping is made just great,” and in response, “It really is. It’s crazy because you really don’t appreciate the 0 fees aspect and liquidity until you are actually trading on the DGTX ladder.”

Another tester who was one of the very first to gain access said, “What I like the most is the constant development and improvements being done every day. In the beginning, we had only access to the main user interface with ladder, chart, etc. The very next day, a panel was added with other pages such as my profile, wallets, history, support, etc. Improvements are literally being done while trading. This is the most positive part because I can feel how the exchange is living and breathing.”

The Telegram Poll Taken By the Testers

One of our Community Managers Jolien ran a poll to gauge the initial response in general. We asked the testers on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being “very satisfied” and 1 being “very unsatisfied” how they were feeling with their first look. So, far, so good! As you can see, only 43 people had taken the poll at the time of writing, but we’re looking at 56% very satisfied and 32% satisfied.

Our work now is on improving the experience and changing the mind of those who are on the fence or unhappy. We’re also getting a ton of key feedback and suggestions beyond how fun and addictive the trading is. Another of our Community Managers, Gary, pointed out on Saturday morning that we had already received 183 help desk tickets!

Around one-quarter of those have been resolved, but he pointed out, “I hope the devs have their skates on, there’s a lot to do!”

Where We Can Improve

As we can see from the poll and some of the comments we’ve been getting, there’s plenty left to be fixed. “There are bugs and loading times are not perfect. Sometimes, I can’t trade due to different issues – it’s a testnet after all.” Other users seem to be experiencing issues that can only be solved by refreshing their interface. Rest assured, we are taking note of absolutely all your comments and user stories.

Adam will be hosting a live AMA on the Beta Testing Telegram channel later today, November 18 at 1500 UTC. That’s 1600 in Central Europe, or 1800 Moscow time. So, he’ll be listening to more feedback and letting the testers know what else to expect as we move into a new week and onboard more people.

Public Launch Is Coming Very Soon

With just 12 days left to go, the public testnet will be up and running before you know it! Although, we don’t want anyone to feel left out! So, be sure to keep tabs on our main Telegram chat as videos and screenshots are being posted in there frequently. We’ll also be covering the key points from the AMA on the blog tomorrow to keep you in the loop so stay tuned!
