Trading the English Championship 26th/27th December 2016
Brentford v Cardiff
In the last eight meetings today between the two there have been no draws. Six of those eight games went Over 2.5 goals so betting Over or laying the draw are options.
Aston Villa v Burton Albion
The first meeting between these two midland clubs and a game to leave alone. Villa should win on current form but whilst Burton have yet to win away, they have drawn five times.
Barnsley v Blackburn
Surprisingly this could be a cracker for two sides who sit below halfway. In their last eight meetings today, seven were Over 2.5 goals and in seven, both teams scored. Expect more of the same.
Huddersfield v Nottm Forest
Huddersfield have had the upper hand in recent meetings today with three wins and one draw and the games have been tight. Four of the six were Under 2.5 goals.
Ipswich v Fulham
In four recent meetings today both teams score in all four games, Ipswich winning three by 2-1 and the other was a 1-1 draw. Both teams have been amongst the goals of late so no reason to think they won’t both score again.
Preston v Leeds
Preston have lost only to leaders Newcastle in the last eight games, winning five but Leeds are in form too, they have won five on the road this season. Leeds have won twice in the last five visits with one draw and they will make it tough for the home side.
Reading v Norwich
The stats point to a Reading win with goals. Five of the last eight head to head were Over and at Reading the results were 2-1, 0-0, 3-3, 2-0 and 4-0. Correct score trading of 2-0 and 2-1 might pay dividends.
Rotherham v Wigan
Only two recent meetings today which both ended in 2-1 wins for the away side. This could be a tight game, in Wigan’s last five away, four were Under and in Rotherham’s last five at home, three were Under.
Newcastle v Sheff Wed
Wednesday have struggled on the road and they play a Newcastle side who have win seven and lost three on their own patch. No relevant recent head to head so we have to go with form and possibly goals as seven of Newcastle’s ten home games have been over.
Wolves v Bristol City
Two sides that are struggling a little for form but previous meetings today have seen goals. Five of the last six head to head have been Over and wolves have won the last four meetings today at home.
Brighton v QPR
Brighton are unbeaten in fourteen and QPR have lost their last five so only one form team here. In the last six head to head there have been three draws and three Brighton wins, the wins all coming at home. Tough for the visitors.
Derby v Birmingham
Derby are unbeaten in eight and Birmingham have lost three of their last eight. Goals are usually the order of the day when these two meet with eight of the last ten head to head Over 2.5 goals. The last eight meetings today have all had a second half goal and six of those eight, a goal after 79 minutes.
