A decent Sunday and Monday for us last week but some pretty uninspiring fixtures this weekend as the season draws to a close we have to be careful with sides who have either the beach or Europe on their mind but have nothing really left to play for. With that in mind we are looking at just four fixtures but also bear in mind that with Real and Barca, as we have said before, they are both capable of ripping sides apart if in the mood, so stake accordingly. Next week we have El Clasico on Sunday which may have a big say in the title race. We will have an in depth preview, probably next Thursday.
Saturday 15th April
3.15 Sporting Gijon v Real Madrid
The last seven head to head in Gijon, which is most relevant here, have seen two nil nil draws and five wins for Real with Sporting failing to score in all seven. Only two of the seven have gone Over 2.5 goals but as mentioned before, it is risky to go Under in Real games even if eth price of around 2.63 is fair. A better option is to try Real to win to Nil at around 2.70.
7.45 Barcelona v Real Sociedad
A must win game for Barca following two defeats, at Malaga last weekend and in Italy in midweek in the Champions League. The good thing for them is that they are at home and playing a side who have a bad record in the Camp Nou. In the last six head to head in Barcelona, the home side have won all six with five Over 2.5 goals and four Over 3.5 goals. Barca have only failed to score at home once this season and that was to bogey side Malaga. Real Sociedad won last week at home ending a run of four without a win and they have won eight on the road, but all against lower half teams. They have not drawn away all season. Barcelona must get back on the winning trail and this is perfect for them so Over 3.5 goals @1.95 is probably the safest option or if you like more risk try 4-0 and 4-1 correct scores for smaller stakes at around 12/1 and 14/1 respectively.
Sunday 16th April
3.15 Valencia v Sevilla
A few weeks ago this would have been the game of the weekend but Sevilla’s title hopes have all but gone with only five points from the last fifteen so ensuring Champions League football is now their main aim so they need to be winning these games. Valencia are in mid-table safety and really have nothing to play for but would want to finish as high as possible. This could still be an entertaining fixture with goals likely and the 1.61 for Over 2.5 goals is a possible option. Five of the last eight head to head have gone Over 2.5 goals, in Valencia four of the last five. Valencia have scored in thirteen of the fifteen at home this season and Sevilla in thirteen of their fifteen away. One interesting stat for those wanting to bet Sevilla is that there has been no away win in the last nine meetings today of the two. I’m not keen to take 2.70 on a Sevilla win on current form so we either play Over 2.5 or we chance a few correct scores at smaller stakes. Try 2-2 @12.0, 3-1 @19.00 and 1-3 at 21.00 for trading options on the exchange.
5.30 Real Betis v Eibar
The two have only played each other three times in recent years with Eibar winning two and one draw. Two of the three games were Over 2.5 goals but this may not be a goal fest unless Betis go behind and start chasing. They are probably safe from the drop but one more win would be welcome. Eibar are in top form with just three losses in their last fourteen games, to Sevilla, Real and Barca. They have won five away and only failed to score in two of fifteen on the road. Betis have lost four of their last five and seven of their last ten but they have scored in nine of those ten. Over 2.5 goals is an option but in the form they are in, Eibar must be worth a small bet at 7/4 (2.75).
