Another big week in the Spanish La Liga with games starting from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th April 2018 – our football trading expert take a look at the best of the action.
Happy Trading!
Friday 13th April 2018
Girona v Real Betis
This is fascinating with Betis now in with a serious chance of European football next season possibly at the expense of local rivals Sevilla. Girona have not won in three and Betis have won their last four, their win against Eibar last weekend being extremely convincing and could have been by more. I am well aware that Betis seem to let you down when least expected, and that this is a tough away trip, but it would be a huge achievement to qualify for Europe. Unless that causes nerves to set in I can see them getting something in Girona but the home side have scored in their last eleven at home so Betis may need at least two to win. A point is not a bad result and I prefer to take the both teams to score price at 1.61 with a cheeky interest in 2-2 correct score at 13.00, the same score as the only previous meeting at this level in Seville in November.

Sevilla v Villarreal
Sevilla have not won in four and meet Villarreal who have lost four of their last six. Both sides have struggled of late but both can put in a performance as Sevilla did against Barcelona and Villarreal did against Atletico. Sevilla have had the better of this fixture in recent years winning two and two draws in the last four and I just favour them here although whether the price at 1.91 is any value is open to question. It might be better to try 2-0 and 2-1 correct scores and trade for a green book.
Barcelona v Valencia
Barca are now unbeaten in thirty one games and have not lost in their last fifteen home games so are they impossible to oppose here? The visitors Valencia are themselves in form with no defeat in nine and five successive victories, and eight wins in those last nine matches. They also have a decent record in recent visits winning two of the last four so are not without hope. I think odds of 9.00 are a bit of an insult to Valencia but we also have to keep in our minds that Barca can take sides apart particularly if Messi hits his strides. That said a small investment on Valencia with a view to trading out if they lead is the call.
Athletic Bilbao v Deportivo
Both teams have scored in the last five meetings today in Bilbao but Deportivo are poor this season and will struggle to get anything here. Bilbao have not lost in ten at home have not scored in their last five away and have lost their last six away. Only one possible result? It looks that way and 1.66 seems more than fair.
Sunday 8th April 2018
Eibar v Alaves
Three meetings today at this level and two ended 0-0 which does not augur well for an exciting game. Eibar are inconsistent but will be happy that they are safely in La Liga again next season and do not have much to play for with Europe looking just out of reach. Alaves have lost three of their last four away but may be worth chancing at 5.00 as they need the points more. Keep stakes sensible though as a boring 0-0 is quite possible.
Malaga v Real Madrid
Real Madrid have won on three of their last four visits, with a 1-1 draw in the other game. Malaga have just twelve points at home all season and it is not possible to put them up as a selection. Real to win 3-0 and 3-1 correct scores for trading opportunities.
