Friday 6th March 2020
Alaves v Valencia
Valencia ended a three-match unbeaten run by beating Betis 2-1 at home, but they have lost their last three away. Alaves have won their last two at home and are pretty strong on their own patch. Seven head to head, all were Over 2.5 goals, five of them ended in a 2-1 scoreline. The obvious play here is Over 2.5 goals at 2.30.
Saturday 7th March 2020
Atletico Madrid v Sevilla
Atletico don’t seem to be playing very well, but they are still in fourth place and going well in Europe. They have lost only one at home and have a good recent record against Sevilla, winning three and drawing the last three meetings today 1-1. Safest play here is probably both teams to score at 2.20.
Barcelona v Real Sociedad
Sociedad have won four of their last five, but all at home. Barca are unbeaten at home, with just one draw. Barcelona have won the last nine head to head at home and cannot be opposed despite the form of Sociedad.HT/FT Barcelona at 2.00 is fair as they have led at the interval in ten of thirteen home games this season.
Getafe v Celta Vigo
Getafe have lost four of their last fifteen, to Villarreal, Real, Barca and Sevilla. They tend to beat sides lower than themselves in the league, especially at home. Getafe have won three of the last four head to head, the problem with this game is that Celta have drawn five of their last eight games and are tough to beat. Both teams to score is a tentative selection at 2.25.
Sunday 8th March 2020
Valladolid v Athletic Bilbao
After five draws, Bilbao lost four in a row and are in freefall, but they did win 1-0 at the weekend and perhaps their fortunes will now change. Three recent meetings today, two ended 1-1 and Valladolid won at home by 1-0. Valladolid have drawn seven of twelve home games, so that must be a big play here so trade correct scores around 0-0 and 1-1 for a green book.
Villarreal v Leganes
Villarreal had a good run ended with defeat at Atletico last week, and also lost at Bilbao. They are strong at home however, so Leganes, who have won only one in eight, might settle for a draw. Villarreal have won the last four meetings today, and all three at home by 2-1. Both teams to score at 1.95 is the best shout here.
Osasuna v Espanyol
Osasuna have lost four of their last five, Espanyol are inconsistent, with four draws in their last eight. The last three head to head were all Over 2.5 goals and I think this may be the same, so at 2.20 it is worth trading.
Betis v Real Madrid
Real will be buoyed by their win over Barca, but the truth is that they are not playing at the top of their game and this is a tough trip to Seville to take on a Betis side who were narrowly beaten at Valencia last week. They have won four and drawn one of their last five games away at Betis scoring five on two occasions and six on another. Real to win and Over 2.5 goals at 2.40.
