La Liga continues to frustrate, and it is many years since we have seen a league table so congested after seven games with just seven points separating the top seventeen teams in a league of twenty. Barcelona have not won in three and the last time that happened was November 2016 when they drew three games on the trot. They have not looked dangerous in recent games, perhaps a good Champions League result will spark them into action.

Athletic Bilbao v Real Sociedad
It is debatable as to who are the in-form team here with Bilbao drawing four of their last five games and Sociedad losing three of their last five. This is a big local derby and will be fiercely competitive and Sociedad have had the better of this fixture in Bilbao in recent years. In the last six meetings today there, Sociedad have won two and drawn three. I think Sociedad might be worth chancing at 3.60 or consider laying the home side to keep the draw onside.

Girona v Eibar
Eibar won both meetings today last season by 4-1 but it would be difficult to envisage them having a similar victory here. Eibar have lost their last two league games, but Girona have only lost one of five and will be a banker home bet for many this week. At odds against, around 2.20 I think we can keep it simple with a home win.
Alaves v Real Madrid
Alaves lost at Levante but had been unbeaten in five so has their bubble burst? They could not have a more difficult game although Real have had to travel to Moscow in midweek and haven’t been in top form themselves with just one win in four. They have looked poor up top and at present it is hard to see where their goals are coming from so beware taking short prices on them, particularly away from home. That said they have only lost once in the seven games so far and they have won all four recent head to head so they clearly are favourites. Bookmakers have them in at around 1.40 with Alaves around 8.00 and I think those prices are wrong. I can see Alaves taking the game to Madrid and think that we can chance Laying Madrid at these prices.

Atletico Madrid v Real Betis
Atletico Madrid have lost just the once this season whilst Betis are unbeaten in six and are proving difficult to breakdown. The immediate thought here is that there may not be many goals and stats back that up, although Betis did look a little more adventurous last week, although it would be a surprise if they went all out attack here. Six of Atletico’s seven games were Under 2.5 goals as were five of the seven Betis games. Four recent head to head were Under and the last three meetings today ended level. Atletico look a little short at 1.50 so perhaps Under 2.5 goals at 1.66 offers us more value.
Sevilla v Celta Vigo
Sevilla have looked good so far and were superb against Real Madrid so should be winning here. They have won their last three whilst Celta have drawn their last three. Sevilla have won three of the last four head to head in Seville and the last five meetings today overall have all gone Over 2.5 goals. I can only see goals, so Overs looks the play here at 1.57
Valencia v Barcelona
Barcelona have not won in three and a tough fixture like this may be what they need as they are unbeaten on their last five visits her with three wins and two draws. Valencia have drawn four of their last five games and may be happy with a point in this. Both have scored in the last six meetings today and at 1.50 that may be the best value here as opposed to Over 2.5 goals priced the same.
