La Liga Trading Focus
Fri 3rd January 2020
Valladolid v Leganes
Just the two relevant meetings today, last season, where Leganes won them both, by 1-0 at home and 4-2 here. Leganes are unbeaten in three scoring six goals, so at 3.30 they are a trade out option against a Valladolid side who have not won in six.
Sevilla v Athletic Bilbao
Sevilla have won the last five meetings today in Seville all to nil, four of them by 2-0. The last ten overall head to head all ended in home wins so Lay the draw is an obvious strategy. The downside is that Bilbao’s last two games ended 0-0. Sevilla to win to Nil at 2.50 looks a fair play here.
Sat 4th January 2020
Getafe v Real Madrid
Real have not lost in eleven head to head against Getafe and have won on four of their last five visits to Getafe, with four games Over 2.5 goals and last year’s meeting ending 0-0. Real are available at 1.75 for this game which will appeal to many, but Over 2.5 goals at 1.;91 is a much better choice.
Espanyol v Barcelona
Local derby where Barcelona have had much the better in recent seasons in the RCDE Stadium, winning five and drawing three of the last eight meetings today there. Barcelona scored in seven of them with Espanyol managing just one goal in two of those eight games. In fact, Espanyol have only beaten their local rivals once in this stadium, a 1-0 win in the Copa Del Rey where they lost over two legs. Barcelona to win to Nil at 2.60 is a possible play here.
Sun 5th January 2020
Granada v Mallorca
No recent meetings today at this level but they did play in the division below last season where this fixture ended 1-0 and the teams drew 1-1 in Mallorca. Both sides are struggling at present and this will undoubtedly be close again, and the chances of goals look slim. Under 1.5 goals at 3.00 as a trading option and you might get out with a profit in the first half.
Real Sociedad v Villarreal
Villarreal have a good recent record here, with four wins and a draw in their last six visits to San Sebastian. They have also won eight of the last twelve meetings today losing just twice. Sociedad are unbeaten in four and Villarreal unbeaten in three so two in form teams. With the stats favouring the visitors, a small Lay of Sociedad at 1.91 might pay dividends as a trade.
Celta Vigo v Osasuna
Osasuna failed to score in the two recent meetings today at this level. Both have won just one in five recent games so backing either is fraught with danger. Both have had just one 0-0 draw so far this season, so we could Lay the draw as a trade which is a little risky as Celta don’t score many. A small Lay of Celta at 2.00 with a view to trading is the slight preference.
