Another big week in the Spanish La Liga with games starting from Saturday 31st March till Sunday 1st April 2018 – our football trading expert take a look at the best of the action.
Happy Trading!
Saturday 31st March 2018
Girona v Levante
Girona continue to surprise many but they are a solid team and deserve their success. They have won five of their last eight including their last six at home to Nil. Levante have shown improvement of late and are unbeaten in three and have won twice on the road. Girona won in Levante and I see no reason why they cannot win again, possibly without conceding again.
Athletic Bilbao v Celta Vigo
The last five meetings today in Bilbao have seen four home wins and a draw so Celta have it to do. Five of the last six head to head saw Over 2.5 goals so we may get an entertaining game. Bilbao have not lost in nine at home and should win but preference would be to play the Overs especially as Celta have scored in 80% of their away matches.
Sevilla v Barcelona
Keep this simple; Barcelona will win as Sevilla are so inconsistent, with four wins and four defeats in their last eight games. Barcelona are unbeaten in twenty nine games, have scored in all away games and have not lost in fifteen away. I expect Barca to wrap the game up and then sit back with an important Champions League game the following week. I suggest 2-0 and 3-0 as correct score trades.
Sunday 1st April 2018
Malaga v Villarreal
It cannot be long until Malaga are confirmed as relegated and Villarreal, who must win, could not have chosen a better game. Malaga have lost seven and drawn one of their last eight and cannot score. They have not won on their last fourteen games. Villarreal have won three of their r last five and have won on their last two visits here. Seven of the last eight meetings today were Under 2.5 goals and Villarreal do tend to do just enough.
Atletico Madrid v Deportivo
Atletico have lost two of their last three to dent their slim title chances but they were against Barca and Villarreal. They had won their previous six and can pick up that winning thread again here. Deportivo have not won in fourteen but have managed five draws so can be difficult to break down. In eleven recent head to head Atletico won eight with three draws. In Madrid they finished 1-0, 3-0, 2-0, 6-0 and 2-0 so a win to Nil looks highly likely.
Espanyol v Alaves
If ever a game had the look of a draw, then this is it. A point would suit both sides and after a great run of seven unbeaten, five of which were draws, Espanyol have climbed to safety. A defeat last time out rocked the boat and not losing here may well be more important than winning. Alaves have lost four of their last five and cannot really afford to lose. With only one draw all season, a second here will virtually ensure survival for another season so don’t expect fireworks if it is level with ten minutes to go.
