La Liga Trading Focus
Sat 18th January 2020
Levante v Alaves
Five recent head to head with four wins for Alaves. Four of the five games were Under 2.5 goals. Levante have not played a draw in their last twelve games and Alaves have not won in their last five. It might be worth Laying Levante at 2.10 as a trading option.
Real Madrid v Sevilla
Real Madrid have won the last ten home league games against Sevilla. They have been in Saudi Arabia in the Spanish Cup so there is the possibility of being affected by travel, but Real have lost only once this season and are serious title contenders. Sevilla have only lost once in eleven games, but they seem to have a mental block in the Bernabeu. Three of the last four head to head in Madrid were won to Nil so Real to win to Nil at 3.10 is the obvious play.
Eibar v Atletico Madrid
Atletico have won eight and drawn two of the last ten head to head against Eibar. The four most recent meetings today in Eibar were all won by Atletico, to Nil. Eibar have lost five of their last seven games whilst Atletico have lost just one in fifteen. A mismatch on paper, and the bookmakers feel the same, but even at 1.83, Atletico are worth a back to Lay trade.

Mallorca v Valencia
Valencia won 2-0 at home in September, the first meeting between the two for six years. Mallorca have lost five of their last six games and Valencia lost just one of their last nine, so no doubt who is the form side. We cannot bet Valencia at 2.00 away from home so Under 2.5 goals at 1.91 is a better trade.
Real Betis v Real Sociedad
No stand-out stats between these two in recent seasons with two wins apiece in Seville and one draw in the last five meetings today there. Both need to add consistency to their games, but both are capable if things drop right. Five of Sociedad’s last six games were Over 2.5 goals and six of Betis’s last seven games the same so there is an excellent chance of goals, although the head to heads in San Sebastián have produced more goals in recent seasons. As either side could win this, it is probably not a game to get too heavily involved in and Lay the Draw with a view to trading out during the game.
Villarreal v Espanyol
Five of the last eight head to head ended level including the last two in Villarreal. Clearly, Lay the Draw is not a good strategy here and it is difficult to recommend Espanyol to win against anyone at present, they have not won in nine and lost their last four away. Villarreal have won their last three including two away from home, and they have lost only once at home this season. Villarreal to win at 1.70 and trade for your stake back if they lead.
Athletic Bilbao v Celta Vigo
Six of the last eight head to head were Over 2.5 goals. In the last ten meetings today there has been only one draw with Athletic winning seven of those games. Bilbao have lost once in nine games, Celta won just one in eleven. Athletic are strong favourites here and we can chance them to win and Over 2.5 goals at 3.40
Barcelona v Granada
Granada beat Barca 2-0 back in September, but the two teams have gone in completely different directions since, with Barca losing just one and Granada losing seven. Prior to that 2-0 win, Granada had lost the previous six games against Barca scoring just two and conceding twenty-one. Barcelona -2 on the handicap at 2.10 for small stakes.
