La Liga continues this weekend and, as always, we’ve got the best of the action covered.
Sunday 12th May 2019
Athletic Club v Celta Vigo
Bilbao have a very small chance of Europa League qualification but need two wins and other results to go their way. Celta are not yet safe but a point from their last two games should be enough. If Sevilla are beaten at Atletico a win for Bilbao means they would then go to Sevilla where a win there would secure them European football. Celta may feel that they will beat relegated Rayo the following week so may not be at full strength on a ground where they have not won on their last six visits. I fancy Bilbao will win at 2.00 and this might be a game to trade for your stake back if they lead.
Atletico Madrid v Sevilla
Atletico are guaranteed second place, but Sevilla need three points if they are to have any chance of overhauling Getafe. They have been poor in recent games with three defeats in their last four matches and will need to win their two remaining games and hope Getafe slip up. It is hard to gauge what frame of mind the Atletico players will be in but we know Sevilla will have to go for it. Both teams to score at 1.67 appeals as the most logical bet here.
Barcelona v Getafe
Barcelona, as expected, seem to be putting everything into the Champions League now that the title is secured. That gives Getafe hope, but the bookies will factor that into their prices. Whatever happens to Getafe they can be proud of their season and would probably settle for a draw with a home game to follow to complete the season, with four points needed to guarantee that Champions League place. I can see the game ending level so the obvious play to small stakes is to Lay Barcelona at around 1.50 as a trading option.
Valencia v Alaves
Valencia kept alive their chances of Champions League football by winning at Huesca last week. All they can do is keep winning and see what happens to Getafe and Sevilla. Alaves players will have little motivation here, so Valencia should win easily but they are priced accordingly at 1.40. Try Valencia HT/FT at 2.00 and hope that they come out of the traps flying, as they did last week.
Rayo Vallecano v Valladolid
Rayo are relegated so there is a huge chance here for Valladolid to get three points which could see them safe depending on other results. This game is all about frame of mind and Valladolid have won two of their last three with the home side just one win in five, although that was against Real Madrid! Valladolid are the likeliest winners, but 1.91 s not an appealing price and I would rather chance Over 2.5 goals at 1.73 as a trading option.
