Another big week in the Spanish La Liga with games starting from Saturday 10th through till Sunday 11th March 2018 – our football trading expert take a look at the best of the action.
Happy Trading!
Saturday 10th March 2018
Eibar v Real Madrid
It looks like this game should produce goals, but how many and for who? Eibar have not given up hope of Europa League football next season but must keep taking points, particularly at home. The problem is that they haven’t beaten Real and managed just one draw. Five of seven meetings today have gone Over 2.5 goals but as you would expect, the bookies have that covered in the prices. If you like short ones the Overs can be bet at 1.57 (4/7). Eibar have only scored twice in those seven meetings today so it may be worth chancing Real to win to Nil which can be backed at 3.00 (2/1).
Sevilla v Valencia
Sevilla have found a bit of form again but are meeting a Valencia side who are unbeaten in five after a little blip. Sevilla have won four of their last five but did get hammered by Atletico in between those wins. Valencia have not won in their last seven visits to Sevilla so the home side will interest many at odds against but I can’t back a side who have conceded five goals twice in six games. Both Teams To Score is an option but again, bookies have priced that in. We can take a chance on Laying the correct score at 60 minutes as both sides, Sevilla at home and Valencia away, are more prolific in the last third of their games. Hopefully the price at 60 minutes is short enough to Lay the current score and a late goal gets us the readies.
Getafe v Levante
Seven of the last nine meetings today have ended Under 2.5 goals and that sounds an obvious play here but three of Getafe’s last four games and five of Levante’s last eight matches have all been Over. Getafe are unbeaten in ten at home, Levante have not won in fifteen matches including their last eight away. On current form Getafe should win and perhaps because they are a smaller team we can still get 1.73 (8/11) which we can take and trade for our stake back if they lead.
Sunday 11th March 2018
Espanyol v Real Sociedad
Real Sociedad had a bad run but have arrested that somewhat with three wins and a draw in their last six games. Espanyol are unbeaten in six but have drawn five of them. Five of Espanyol’s seven wins have been by 1-0 which sums them up as they have averaged less than one goal a game. Sociedad do score goals but concede too many, so perhaps this is the perfect game for them against a side who can’t score. They have won on three of their last four head to head here and can be backed at 2.70 (17/10) or for those who prefer a safer option, Lay Espanyol.
Atletico Madrid v Celta Vigo
Atletico set out with a game plan to frustrate Barcelona last week and were a little unlucky not to grab a point late on. That said, football was the winner with Barcelona showing too much skill for the visitors. This game will be different as at home Atletico are unbeaten this season and have won the last five meetings today. They have become more adventurous in recent games scoring four against Leganes and five away at Sevilla. That makes a prediction more difficult but they have won four of the last five against Celta to Nil. Try trading 2-0 and 3-0 for a green book. My only reservation is that Atletico may feel a little deflated after Barca virtually sewed up the title last week but I’m sure Simeone will have them back on track for second place.
