Another big week in the Spanish La Liga with games starting from Saturday 24th through till Sunday 25th Feb 2018 – our football trading expert take a look at the best of the action.
Happy Trading!
Saturday 24th February 2018
Celta Vigo v Eibar
Celta Vigo have lost one of their last seven ( two of their last three) but Eibar are in better form with just two losses in their last thirteen, to Barcelona and Atletico. Eibar have a real chance of Europa League football next season but must continue in this form. In seven recent head to head, both have won three with one draw but five of the seven were Under 2.5 goals. I was tempted to chance Eibar at 3.60 (13/5) but a safer option may be a small Lay of the home side at just over Evs giving us the draw onside.
Real Madrid v Alaves
Real Madrid are a real nightmare to bet on as they can just as easily go behind as lead three nil. Traders love them as they can Lay short and generally get a chance to trade out. In the three recent head to head, Real have won all three by nine goals to two and should win again, but they may make it difficult for themselves and I would rather be a Layer at 1.12 (1/8) than a backer as it gives trading opportunities if Alaves lead or if it is level in the second half.
Sunday 25th February 2018
Villarreal v Getafe
Four recent head to head in Villarreal have seen two home wins and two away wins. Only three of the last eight head to head overall have gone Over 2.5 goals so games are usually tight. Villarreal have not won in three games but Getafe are unbeaten in six matches and arrive here on the back of a 3-0 victory over Celta Vigo. They have conceded just three goals in those six games so perhaps the safest call here if you need to play is Under 2.5 goals especially as Getafe are not as strong on the road.
Sevilla v Atletico Madrid
Sevilla have lost nine times this season which is why they are struggling for a European place next season. They should be o.k. but have a number of teams breathing down their necks. They have lost just once at home but the visitors have a decent record here winning three and one draw on their last five visits. Atletico have lost one game all season and conceded only nine goals which is the lowest in the league. They have also won six of their last seven and should win here. The price of 2.25 (5/4) may not appeal to some so consider trading around 1-0 and 2-0 for a profit.
Valencia v Real Sociedad
The last three meetings today between the two all ended 3-2 but it is Sociedad’s record in Valencia that is interesting. They have won on five of their last six visits to the Mestalla and that is too good a stat to ignore completely despite their indifferent form of late. Odds of around 4.50 (7/2) are worth a small interest and there should be goals so Over 2.5 goals if you like less risk.
