Another big week in the Spanish La Liga with games starting from Friday 26th January through till Sunday 28th January – our football trading expert take a look at the best of the action.
Two recent trading situations on La Liga have shown the value of trading over just betting. Barcelona at Sociedad and Real at home to Deportivo both saw the outsiders score first and offer a profit if trading out early. In both cases the side we layed went on to win and in the case of Real it was a 7-1 thrashing but a number of you will have made a profit on a loser, Happy Trading!

Athletic Bilbao v Eibar
There have been seven head to head in La Liga and Athletic have won five and drawn one. They are also in great form and are unbeaten in nine, although they do draw a lot, five of the last eight. Eibar themselves had been in decent form but lost to Atletico and then drew with Malaga. They were a little unlucky against Malaga and finished the game strongly and this should be a decent game. Eibar had lost five on the trot away but have steadied that with two wins and a draw in their last three. There has been money for Eibar already this week but I’m tempted to chance Athletic if you can get the 1.91 (10/11).

Valencia v Real Madrid
The last ten meetings today have all been Over 2.5 goals with seven of the ten Over 3.5 goals. It looks safe to say that there will again be goals as 60% of Valencia home games and 75% of Real away games go Over 2.5 goals. The price is prohibitive at 1.36 (4/11) which is alright for multiple bets but not really any good for trading. As Real have drawn their last three away, one option to consider is to Lay Real at 1.70 (7/10) and look to trade out if Valencia lead. I’m going to take a chance on something else and will Lay Over 3.5 goals at around 1.83 (5/6) purely based on the stats. Only 30% of Valencia home games and 25% of Real away games have gone Over 3.5 goals this season and that puts the odds in our favour.
Malaga v Girona
Just a quick note here as there are no head to head stats of any note with just one meeting which Girona won at home by 1-0. Girona are playing well, a 1-1 draw with Atleti and a 6-0 demolishing of Las Palmas, (although LP were shocking in that) Girona still looked good. Malaga nearly shocked Eibar last week but were flattered and are playing badly. As things stand at present, Girona are definitely worth a small trade at 3.10 (21/10).

Sevilla v Getafe
Have Sevilla turned the corner with a win at Espanyol and defeat of Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey where both sides fielded decent sides. Sevilla have a great record at home to Getafe winning the last five by fifteen goals to one. Getafe are much better at home and have lost the last three away without scoring. Sevilla’s home form has kept them in with a chance of a European place again next season with six wins and two draws from nine games. As Sevilla are a best priced 1.57 (4/7) a better option may be to trade around 2-0 and 3-0 for a green book.
