La Liga continues this weekend and, as always, we’ve got the best of the action covered.
Saturday 10th November 2018
Atletico Madrid v Athletic Bilbao
Bilbao will likely play for a draw as is their way with seven draws from eleven games this season, but Atletico are masters at breaking sides down. Where Atletico have struggled this season is when they have tried to defend a 1-0 lead, but they may be a little more expansive here at home especially against a side that they have scored two or more against, in five of the last six meetings today. They have also won four of the last five encounters in Madrid and look to extend their unbeaten run to nine. Bilbao have not won in ten and this will be a major shock if they get anything out of this game. With six of the last nine head to head being Over 2.5 goals, that is an option but Atletico -1 on the handicap is worth chancing at 2.40.
Girona v Leganes
Girona have found some form and are unbeaten in three, winning the last two. Leganes are inconsistent, winning two, drawing two and losing two of their last six, but they are one of those sides who win when least expected. Their big problem is goals, with just nine in eleven games. Girona won this fixture 3-0 last season and at 2.10 I think they are worth backing again.

Barcelona v Real Betis
Barcelona are certainly back in form but still not at their very best although they should still have far too much for the most frustrating side in La Liga, Betis. Barca have won their last three games and all were Over 4.5 goals and as would be expected, they have scored in every game. Betis ended a run of three defeats with a frustrating 3-3 draw at home to Celta after leading 2-0, but this is a fixture they have a poor record in and they have not won in the last twelve head to head managing just two draws. This game must have goals with eight of the last twelve going Over 3.5 goals and nine of the last twelve going Over 2.5 goals. With Over 3.5 goals being 1.91, that is the preferred option.
Sevilla v Espanyol
Two sides in the top three, with Espanyol continuing their great form mostly thanks to their solid defence. They have conceded just eight this season, only Atletico are better, and are unbeaten in their last six games with four wins and two draws. Sevilla have won their last three at home where they are always strong and have scored twenty- two goals in the campaign so far with only Barcelona scoring more. So, the big question is, Sevilla’s attack or Espanyol’s defence to come out on top? The head to head in Seville suggests the home side as they have won five of the last six meetings today, but they did draw 1-1 last season. Espanyol have scored on four of their last five visits, so we should look at either Over 2.5 goals or Both Teams To Score and as they are both priced around 1.70, the latter appeals most.
Celta Vigo v Real Madrid
I am going to keep this simple as although Real beat Valladolid they were far from convincing and I am keen to take them on when they are short priced until they are more consistent. Celta draw too many games, three in the last six and this fixture ended 2-2 last season, but they do score goals at home and have nine in the last five head to head in Vigo. Try laying Real at 1.60 with a view to trading if Celta lead
