Norwich v Swansea
Only one recent head to head in this division as both have regularly plied their trade in the Premiership, Norwich winning it 4-1 at Swansea in November. Norwich games are always exciting with their last eight games going Over 3.5 goals. I think Norwich are a touch of value at 1.70 but better value is Over 2.5 goals at 1.73.
Saturday 9th March 2019
Blackburn v Preston
Preston are now unbeaten in nine and showing that they are an organised tough side to beat. After a good run, Blackburn have now lost five of their last six and the last side they would want to face are a local rival in form. Five recent head to head have all gone Over 2.5 goals with both teams scoring in all five. Preston to win and Over 2.5 goals at 4.50.
Bristol City v Leeds
The way Leeds demolished West Brom means they will be well fancied here, but Bristol City are themselves in a challenging position for promotion, so this will be tough especially after their fightback against Preston. Leeds won here 3-0 last season and beat Bristol at home in November by 2-0 but I cannot take 2.40 against a side that have won four of their last five at home so try correct score trades around 1-1 and 2-2 with a view to getting a green book.
Derby v Sheff Wed (before midweek games)
Derby appear to be in freefall and Sheff Wed under their new manager are playing well and unbeaten in seven. Both play midweek, after this was written but Wednesday at 3.75 have to be considered as Derby look tired.
Middlesbrough v Brentford
Brentford have won six of their last eight and only lost two in twelve and have an outside chance of the play-offs. Boro are comfortably in a play-off place but are chasing automatic promotion and need to win their home games. They have lost just one of their last ten matches, but they draw too many games, thirteen so far. In nine recent head to head, Boro have won seven and drawn two so chancing them at 2.30 has to be the call.
Nottm Forest v Hull
Hull have won on their last five visits to the City Ground with four of those being Under 2.5 goals and three won by 1-0. Both are on the fringes of the play-offs, so a win would be a huge boost to those chances, but on all this seasons stats, this has draw written all over it. Try trading 0-0 and 1-1 in the correct score market.
West Brom v Ipswich
Only one winner here on current form with the home side quite correctly quoted at 1.36 to beat an Ipswich side that sit bottom and have won only three all season. West Brom have lost their last two giving the visitors a small ray of hope but they did win at Ipswich in November and are surely a banker here. Try 3-0 and 3-1 in correct score trading.
Monday 10th March 2019
Birmingham v Aston Villa
The second city derby and Villa will be buzzing after beating Derby 4-0 with local rivals Birmingham losing 2-0 at Hull. As with all derbies it will be close, so the first goals is often vital, and both sides have scored first in just over 50% of their matches this season. Villa won this fixture at home by 4-2 despite Birmingham leading, but the two recent meetings today at St Andrews have ended 0-0 and 1-1. With Birmingham two points ahead of Villa, and both sides around the same price, the suggestion is both teams to score at 1.73.
