Barnsley v West Brom
The only relevant meeting was earlier in the season where Barnsley managed a 2-2 draw at The Hawthorns, with two late goals by the home side securing a point. At present West Brom are top and Barnsley bottom so they have both gone in different directions. West Brom to win at -1 on the handicap.
Hull v Nottm Forest
Hull won at Forest earlier in the season and six of the last eight head to head have gone to the away side. Forest are better away so either Lay Hull or chance the visitors.
Leeds v Preston
Preston have been better at home, so it is a daunting prospect travelling to Leeds on Boxing day. In the last four meetings today at Elland Road, Leeds have won three with one draw. Leeds to win or Under 2.5 goals.
Blackburn v Birmingham
Three of the last four head to head ended in draws. Four of the last six head to head ended Under 2.5 goals. Blackburn will fancy their chances at home, but both teams to score might offer a touch better value.
Brentford v Swansea
Brentford are a lot more consistent than Swansea and their home form is better than the Welsh side’s away form. Brentford won 3-0 at Swansea in October, but Swansea won 3-2 here last season having led 3-0. Over 2.5 goals should give us plenty of trading opportunity.
Sunday 29th December 2019
Preston v Reading
Preston will be glad to get back to a home game after two tough away trips, however they have lost to Reading in the last four head to head including 3-2 here last season. I think this might be tight and Under 2.5 goals as a trading angle appeals.
Bristol City v Luton
The only relevant meeting was earlier in the season where Luton won 3-0, but they have gone downhill since then. Bristol City had looked good but had a couple of recent blips at home and it is difficult to recommend a side that have lost ten away this season. Bristol City are a little risky so try both teams to score.
Millwall v Brentford
A Xmas London derby and in six recent games, there has been no away win. The games at Millwall ended 1-1 and 1-0, so Under 2.5 goal sis one option, but with both in form, both teams to score offers a little more value.
Monday 30th December 2019
Derby v Charlton
Both teams are struggling, and Derby lost at home to Millwall, and it was their home form that had been keeping them from a relegation battle. Derby have won three of the four most recent games at Pride Park and should be strong enough again here.
