There is a full midweek programme, results of which are not included on this analysis. The cream continues to rise to the top and the top six will all be expecting to challenge for promotion come the end of the season. Swansea, Stoke and Aston Villa still lack consistency and Brentford need to turn more of their draws into victories if they want to be in the mix.
Friday 26th October 2018
QPR v Aston Villa
A lot will depend on which side recovers better from their exploits on Tuesday. The two have met just four times at this level in recent years with three of those games ending in away wins. Both games last season were Over 2.5 goals and both defences have struggled this season suggesting goals could be the way to go here at 2.00.
Saturday 27th October 2018
Middlesbrough v Derby
Almost a six pointer, even at this early stage of the season and despite Derby winning here by 3-0 last season, Boro have had the better of the fixture in recent years. One stat that may be important is that in the last seven meetings today, five of them ended with only one team scoring so the first goal could be vital. Under 2.5 goals at 1.61 looks obvious but Boro could nick this and at 2.00 they are the call with a view to trading if they lead.
Millwall v Ipswich
A fixture that has produced goals in recent years with seven of the last ten meetings today going Over 2.5 goals and the last two meetings today at Millwall ended 3-4 and 1-3. Keep it simple and play the Overs at 2.00.
Leeds v Nottm Forest
A tight fixture ahead as seven of the last eight meetings today have been Under 2.5 goals as have the last five meetings today in Leeds which ended 0-0, 2-0, 0-1, 0-0 and 0-2. Both sides are pretty solid but Leeds have a strong home record and that just swings me in their favour. They are perfectly backable at 1.80 but I prefer Both Teams To Score at 1.73.
Norwich v Brentford
There have been just the two recent meetings today, with both finishing as away wins. Brentford have looked strong in the early part of the season but are struggling to finish sides off whilst Norwich appear to be going from strength to strength and are moving up the table. Both teams score plenty of goals but also concede so the obvious play here is Over 2.5 goals at 1.83.
Swansea v Reading
No relevant head to head so it is all about current form. Swansea look as though they will come good sooner rather than later but results have not gone their way although it looks to be just a matter of time before that changes around. Reading concede too many goals although they have scored in their last six away games to give them some hope here. Try Both Teams To Score at 1.91.
Birmingham v Sheff Wed
No draw in the last six meetings today and none in the last five head to head in Birmingham. Both are in fairly decent form but Sheff Wed have lost their last two and it would be difficult to recommend them. Try trading in the correct score market around 2-1 and 3-1.
