Championship Trading Focus – Championship League action continues after an FA Cup weekend and the season is really starting to hot up for both promotion and relegation. Wolves still look solid at the top but have had the gap reduced by Derby with Cardiff, Aston Villa and Bristol City all close behind. At the foot of the table any three of the bottom six could go down but Sunderland look like a club in crisis and will do well to get out of trouble.

Derby v Bristol City
Two of the top sides meet here so three points would make a huge statement. Bristol City have had a little blip in the league recently, losing the last three, which may be partly down to their League Cup exploits. They have the second leg against Manchester City next Tuesday which may be on the player’s minds. Derby are on a fantastic run, unbeaten in eight and with just two defeats in their last twenty games. The head to head shows five of the last six went Over 2.5 goals and that looks an obvious play here. Derby have won three and drawn one of the last four meetings today at Pride Park and whilst they are tempting at a shade of odds against, I prefer to go with the goals option and go Over 2.5 goals at 2.10 (11/10)

Reading v Brentford
It is Reading’s home form that has seen them slip down the table and they take on a Brentford side who sit comfortably in mid-table and who have won four of their last five games. Reading in contrast have won one in their last eight but have been successful in the FA Cup. Brentford are rightly favourites but I don’t want to be taking odds of 2.25 (5/4) about them so we need to look for another option. In seven recent head to head in this league, five were Over 2.5 goals and six saw both teams score. Those look more solid options with both teams to score at 1.66 (4/6) and Over 2.5 goals 1.80 (4/5). Preference would slightly be for both teams to find the net.
Wolves v Nottingham Forest
I have included this match because I think that Wolves are a backable price to include in your multiple bets and accumulators this weekend. They have not lost in thirteen matches and lost just once at home all season. They take on a Forest side under a new manager who have not won in six and with five points only from their last nine games. Forest have been backed in the early exchanges, obviously someone thinks Karanka will have a big effect on the side. I have Wolves a shorter price so they can be included in your multiples.
Leeds v Millwall
Leeds at home are better than Millwall are away from home, not won in thirteen on the road, and past meetings today backs that up. Leeds have won the last five head to head at Elland Road. Ten of the last eleven head to head have ended in home wins and Leeds have won three and drawn two of their last five at home. Leeds to win at 2.25 (5/4)
(Odds are subject to change)
