We continue in decent form on the German football and long may that continue. The midweek programme produced a huge shock with Bayern held at home by a late Augsburg equaliser, but they dominated the game and normal service is likely to be resumed this weekend.

Hertha Berlin v Bayern Munich
Bayern need to get back on track, but this is probably not the fixture they would choose, having drawn their last three meetings today, although Hertha have yet to beat them at this level. Hertha are however a decent outfit and their 3-1 defeat at Bremen was a little harsh as they more than matched the home side. The fact that Bayern conceded late, having thought they had the game under control, makes me more confident that they will go into this game all guns blazing and they have yet to concede away from home. Bayern to win to nil may offer some value.

Hoffenheim v RB Leipzig (written before Leipzig midweek game)
Hoffenheim have had an extra day to recover and that should help. The two have met four times with all four going Over 2.5 goals and three of the four Over 3.5 goals. On current season form, all games involving these two sides have seen both teams score and that looks nailed on, but I would be surprised if there were not goals leaving that as a different option. The Over 3.5 market looks a real player, but the odds are not huge so keep stakes sensible.
Wolfsburg v M’gladbach (written before midweek games)
A fixture that has favoured Wolfsburg with five wins and a draw from the last six head to head in Wolfsburg. Overall, in the recent meetings today at both grounds, four of the last five have gone Over 2.5 goals and both teams have been involved in matches with goals, Wolfsburg have gone Over in all four. Keep it simple and play the Overs.
Schalke v Mainz
What has happened to Schalke? They have lost all five games and scored just two goals. They are too good a side for this to continue but they need to get a win on the board sooner rather than later and this offers them a great opportunity as they have won the last four meetings today in Gelsenkirchen. Backing Schalke at 1.70 is fraught with danger and no value but I do think they will win and kick start their season, so a better option could be to trade the Under 2.5 goals market at around 1.90 as the last three head to head have all been Under. Mainz are fairly useful and will be tough to breakdown so a one goal victory would be no surprise.
Sunday 30th September 2018
Augsburg v Freiburg
Freiburg have won their last two and Augsburg got a great point at Bayern in mid-week, so both will arrive with high confidence. Both teams have scored in all five Augsburg games this season and three of Freiburg’s five games were the same. In the last six meetings today between the two in Augsburg, five of the six were Over 2.5 goals but four of the six games ended level. We could chance trading around 1-1 and 2-2 if you think that both teams to score is too short a price.
