Another huge weekend ahead in the German Bundesliga – we take a look at the best of the action from a trading angle.
Saturday 20th January 2018
Hoffenheim v Leverkusen
Hoffenheim have scored in all their home games and Leverkusen in all their away games. Leverkusen have a decent record here winning on four of their last seven visits with two draws. That points straight away to the away side but the odds reflect that and Hoffenheim are a decent side at home this season. Leverkusen draw a lot of games but they are unbeaten in their last six away so I think the safest option is to Lay the home side keeping the draw on side.
Wolfsburg v Frankfurt
This game has both teams to score written all over it on current form. Three of Wolfsburg’s last four home games and Frankfurt’s last four away games have seen both sides score. Wolfsburg have drawn an incredible eleven times in eighteen games and have conceded in eight of nine home games and Frankfurt have conceded in their last thirteen games. I cannot see either side keeping a clean sheet so Both Teams To Score at 1.80 (4/5).
Hamburg v FC Koln
Koln have given themselves a glimmer of hope by winning their last two games having not won all season. They take on the side directly above them and this is a real “six-pointer” as a win for the away side would take them within three points of the hosts. They are at least going into the game with confidence and they take on a Hamburg side that have lost their last three. The head to head shows seven of the last eleven have gone Over 2.5 goals but it is hard to envisage these two playing open attacking football with so much at stake. Hamburg will be fancied by many at odds against but they have won only three at home and even against Koln they are no good things. That said, it is the obvious play in the match but keep stakes sensible.
Sunday 21st January 2018
Schalke v Hannover
Schalke have won the last five meetings today in Gelsenkirchen and have scored in their last twelve games. Hannover have lost their last four away matches. Five of Schalke’s last six games and four of Hannover’s last six games have gone Over 2.5 goals and there should be goals here. We cannot back Schalke at 1.57 (4/7) but they can be included in multiple bets and we can take a chance on one of the Special markets in Schalke to win and Over 2.5 goals which is available at 2.30 (13/10)
