Friday 6th March 2020
Paderborn v Koln
Paderborn have lost their last three, and they have lost nine at home this season. Koln had an awful start to the season but have won seven of their last nine (losing only to Dortmund and Bayern) and sit mid-table after looking like they were heading for relegation. They still need more points, and this is the perfect chance for three more. Three recent meetings today with two 0-0 draws and a 3-0 win for Koln back in October. Koln at 2.20 to win but it is not huge value so take your stake back if they lead.
Saturday 7th March 2020
Freiburg v Union Berlin
Union have won their last two away, and Freiburg have lost three of their last four at home. Union won the only recent head to head by 2-0 in October so a Lay of Freiburg at 2.30 keeps the draw on side.
Hertha Berlin v Werder Bremen
Bremen have lost nine of their last ten games and are heading for the drop. Hertha are inconsistent but will win enough games to be safe, although they need to up their home form, they have lost three of their last four. Werder Bremen need to go on a “Koln like” run of wins, but four of the last five head to head were draws and they have drawn four of their last five at Hertha with one win. Perhaps this is the game to chance them, but they are only 3.40 to back. Lay Hertha at 2.20 as a trading angle keeping the draw on our side.
Schalke v Hoffenheim
Schalke have scored one goal in six games and lost the last two by an aggregate of 8-0. Hoffenheim lost 6-0 at home to Bayern last week and it could have been more but for the farcical last 15 minutes. A bad game to get involved in as neither have won in four, and the head to head tells us very little, they regularly beat each other. Lay the draw jumps out, but on current form, 0-0 is a possibility. Purely because they are struggling to score, Lay Schalke at 2.10 as a trading angle.
Moenchengladbach v Dortmund
Probably the game of the weekend, two in form sides, Gladbach unbeaten in nine at home, Dortmund have won six of their last seven games. The head to head is in Dortmund’s favour, they have won the last nine. Dortmund are on a mission, so at 2.10 can be backed as a trade-out option.
Wolfsburg v RB Leipzig
Both are unbeaten in five, but Leipzig have not been at their best recently, probably have their minds on the Champions League. Six of the seven head to head were Under 2.5 goals and Wolfsburg have won two and drawn two of those games. At a shade of odds on, it is worth Laying Leipzig with a view to trading.
Sunday 8th March 2020
Bayern Munich v Augsburg
Bayern are unbeaten in ten, nine wins. Augsburg have lost six of their last eight. Augsburg’s one hope is that they have drawn two of the last three head to head, once in Munich, but they were both early season games, and with Bayern going for the title, I expect a comfortable win. Augsburg have scored in the last four meetings today so it might be worth chancing Bayern to win and both teams to score at 2.25.
Mainz v Dusseldorf
A six-pointer relegation battle with any winner going a long way towards helping their survival chances. Both may settle for a point but in three recent meetings today, Mainz have won two so really need to go for it. Dusseldorf have lost only one in five, so I think they are worth chancing at 4.20 with a view to trading.
