Bayern Munich v Hertha Berlin
Traditional Bundesliga opening game where the Champions are asked to start first, and they do so with a home fixture against Hertha. What looks like a banker home win, may not be as easy as the odds of 1.20 suggest as Hertha beat Bayern early last season and have a decent recent record against them. In the last five head to head, Bayern have won once with a win for Hertha and three draws, including one in Munich. Bayern lost the recent Super Cup to Dortmund by 2-0 but Dortmund are a decent side and not a lot should be read into this. A small lay of Bayern at 1.20 is the preferred choice with a small interest in Over 3.5 goals at 2.10

Dortmund v Augsburg
Dortmund had the best possible start to the season beating Bayern 2-0 in the Super Cup. Augsburg have a good recent record against Dortmund with three 1-1 draws and a win in the last six head to head, with two of those draws being in Dortmund. Both teams have scored in the last eight league meetings today so that is the obvious place to start. The price is 2.00 which is fair with the alternative option for those who like a riskier trade is to Lay Dortmund at 1.25 with the option to trade out.
Freiburg v Mainz
A game that should produce goals with three of the last four meetings today in Freiburg going Over 2.5 goals and five of the last seven overall head to head also being Over. The only doubt about going Over 3.5 is that it is the first game of the season, but I do fancy there could be goals and 3.50 is a good price. We will play a little cautious and go Over 2.5 goals at 2.00.
Borussia M’gladbach v Schalke
Schalke are my bogey team as they never perform when I most expect them, and they have let me down on too many occasions. Hopefully with a new manager in place they can get back to their old winning ways. This is a tough opener however and they will need to be at their best to get anything in Moenchengladbach. Recent head to head sees that Schalke have no wins in the last five meetings today and in Gladbach, they have lost five and drawn one of the last six head to head. All those six games saw both teams score and five of the six were Over 2.5 goals. Over 2.5 goals at 1.80 looks the safest option.

Eintracht Frankfurt v Hoffenheim
This is a fascinating game, not least because it will be interesting to see how Frankfurt cope with the loss of Jovic and Haller. Recent meetings today have seen goals with both teams scoring in the last four games. The head to head in Frankfurt recently have ended 3-2, 1-1, 0-0, 0-2 and 3-1. Frankfurt are already playing in the Europa League qualifiers so will be match fit and that may be in their favour and at 2.40 we could trade for our stake back if they lead.
Union Berlin v RB Leipzig
Union Berlin won through to the Bundesliga for the first time in their history, by beating Stuttgart in the play-offs. The secret to their success last season was that they were difficult to beat, losing just five times in thirty-four games and conceding the least amount of goals in the division, just under one a game. This season will be an altogether different test and bookies have them at 1.67 to go straight back down. Leipzig should once again be challenging for a top six finish and have recruited a couple of useful looking youngsters in Lookman, who played for them the season before and Nkunku from PSG, both should improve their attacking options. Over 2.5 goals at 1.73 looks like a fair play.
