On Wednesday 3rd December 2008 we have Adam Todd from RacingTraders.com as a guest live on WUBT Betting Exchange Radio at 1.00pm UK time. There’s been a competition running here at Juicstorm.com since last Saturday and the closing date for entries is Wednesday 3rd December 2008 at 11:00 GMT. So you’ve still got time to participate. And many, many thanks to Adam for putting up those two great prizes of 3 months unlimited access to the Ladder Interface and 2000 minutes for BetTrader.
The draw will be made live on the show. We’ll be talking about BetTrader which has been in a constant state of development since 2004 when it was first conceived. The latest version, BetTrader 4.4, was released in August 2008 and is loaded with more trading tools and features than ever before.
We’ll also be finding out about the man himself, Adam Todd, who first became involved in the financial markets at the age of 18. He made his early living as a scalper, making lots of very short term trades on the 10 Year German Government Bond (Bund) futures contract, using the bid-ask spread to make his profits.
Later, starting with a bank of £200 and no knowledge of gambling on horses, Adam began trading the favourite’s price on Betfair UK horse racing markets. He continued to trade full time on Betfair successfully for three years with steady profits.
It promises to be a great show and we’ll be going out live as usual but, if you miss it, you can check out all the previous shows here. Ladies and gents, have a great day and good luck to you all, as always.
Hi, firstly thanks for sharing so much information here. I’ve been trawling through your blog for the last week and getting very interested, but now somewhat confused about trading on racing and using bots.
I used to trade bund as well as spreads against the 5-year and 2-year German bonds so I’m comfortable with BetTrader and the mental arithmetic side of things. I just need a starting point such as some basic strategies that work and the theory behind them and to get used to some of the terminology. Are there any books or sites you would recommend reading? People keep telling me they make money scalping the market on price action alone, not taking any particular view on which way its going, is this possible, i used to get burned A LOT doing this. Any help/advice is appreciated. Wanting to take the plunge sooner rather than later.
All the best
Mark T
Hi Mark, great to see you here and I’m glad you like the blog. There are no books on Betfair trading that I can recommend, sorry.
We’ve got Adam on the show on Wednesday and I’ll be asking him his opinion on Betfair trading in the current market so your questions will be answered then. So tune in or listen later here.
There are some trading videos here as well. Good luck mate.
Mark my advice would be to develope your own strategy. The best way to do this is watch hundreds and hundreds of markets. Come up with some theroies and paper trade them or trade that at very low values. There are so many different ways to make money on the volatile betfair horse racing markets. It is best if you have your own developed style , you own special angle, because you will trust this more than following what other people say or do. Plus fully understanding how other people work can IMHO only been done by watching them again over hundreds of markets. It is better to have a different strategy to the rest as that means other people will be supporting your strategy rather than competing against you.
Thanks for that Brian. And fancy coming on the show again soon?
Interesting blog. Like what u guys have put together here at Juicestorm!
