The matcher spreadsheet is very easy to use and quickly works out equally matched returns for SR and SNR free bets, win or lose.
The examples below show a £100 bet at 5 with lay odds at 4.7 and commission of 5% on the lay. The spreadsheet loads with 5% as the default commission rate (cell D7) so unless you are using a different exchange or have already lowered your commission rate at Betfair, this will normally be correct. You can easily change it, and there is an option to enter commission for the back bet in cell D3 in case you are using 2 exchanges.
SR Free Bets, Qualifiers and Arbs
The screenshot shows the input for a SR free bet, a qualifying bet or an arb.
You enter:
The stake (£100) in cell B1.
The bookie odds (5) in cell B3.
The lay odds at Betfair (4.7) in cell B7.
The spreadsheet shows:
How much your bet will win at the bookie, including stake in cell F3: £500
Your liability at Betfair (this does not include the lay stake) in cell F7: £397.85
The overall profit assuming a SR free bet (for a qualifier or arb you need to subtract the bet stake from this) in cells B9 for if the bet wins and D9 for if it loses – note that these are exactly the same: £102.15.
The lay stake you need to use at Betfair in cell B11: £107.53.
The example chosen here is an arb, so you would make a profit of £2.15 even if there was no free bet involved, and £102.15 with a £100 SR free bet.
SNR Free Bets
The only difference for SNR free bets is that you enter the free bet amount (£100) in cell D1 as well as B1.
The spreadsheet then shows:
How much your bet will win at the bookie, not including stake in cell F3: £400
Your liability at Betfair (this does not include the lay stake) in cell F7: £318.28
The overall profit for a SNR free bet in cells B9 for if the bet wins and D9 for if it loses – note that these are again exactly the same: £81.72.
The lay stake you need to use at Betfair in cell B11: £86.02.
This example gives a profit on a £100 SNR free bet of £81.72. Higher odds would give a bigger profit for a SNR free bet.
