Golf is one of the few sports that is safe to arb in play, providing that you don’t do it just as a significant player is about to hit the ball. There are times when the market is in play when nobody is actually playing, and this is perfectly safe.
The win market has no rules differences.
If you bet on the top 5 or top 10 markets you should check what happens if there is a tie for the last place, eg 5th. Betfair settles as a dead heat and I think most bookies do the same. Some occasionally have offers such as full odds for a tie or 6 places each way.
2-ball and 3-ball markets
These are normally quite safe, with one important exception. Coral/Eurobet VOID the bet if one of the players doesn’t play all 18 holes. Betfair and all the other major bookies settle on the official winner. Therefore you should not arb these markets at coral. If you are using a bookie who is not one of the big names, you should check the rules – I believe The Greek settles a tie on the number of birdies, whereas Betfair and the others settle on a dead heat.
