Welcome to this the latest ‘Weekend Wager’ free betting column produced by Mike Bishop from the Secret Betting Club and Money Maker Review service.
I work as part of the team at the Secret Betting Club where we uncover exactly which experts, systems and tipsters you should follow to make money betting. As well as proofing dozens of tipsters we also include monthly articles and reviews on professional gambling tips and betting strategies. Every article we put together is also listed at our member’s website Money Maker Review.
Mike Says
In these regular columns I have talked about a very wide range of topics, but I intend to take that a step further this week by touching briefly on equipping yourself with a successful betting mindset. I believe very strongly that getting a grasp on this can ultimately at times be the difference between success and failure in this game.
For instance, did you know that the impact of something losing hurts twice as much than the reward from a win? Thus even if you have a 50% success rate, the 50% of losses you incur will impact how you feel a heck of a lot more. Take that a step further and imagine following something that has a 10% strike rate. If your not aware of how that will impact you, then those 90% of losses can bite really hard.
One of the approaches we advocate for our members here at Secret Betting Club is to not get too involved in individual results or small sequences of performance. If you do watch every race or live out every result then you are opening yourself up to those strong feelings of loss on a very regular basis. By taking a more sensible view of observing more medium and long-term results (that is not analysing every single bet) your betting experience will be that much easier! It certainly helps to control those pangs of anxiety when a bet loses (and equally over-confidence if it wins).
Similar issues can arise with something as simple as the difference between placing your bets at the bookmaker with cash or online with your credit card. In this instance lets imagine you are placing a £200 bet. If you walk into the bookies shop with the £200 in your hand and place the bet over the counter, it feels a lot more real than numbers on a screen if placing it online. This transfers well into real life as shops have long known that customers will pay up to twice as much by credit card than they would with cash.
I could go on talking about this but space dictates I must stop here. We do though cover all these mindset issues and our tips to overcome them in our regular Betting Masterclass articles at the Secret Betting Club. Well worth checking out if you feel this is an area you are keen to find out more about.
Until next week…
