Betdaq V Betfair

The image on the left shows the market for the 13.05 at Aintree two hours before the off. As has been predicted by so many, including myself, Betdaq is now becoming a serious alternative to Betfair. A monopoly is never healthy. Now it’s ended. And who would have thought Betfair would have taken the steps to guarantee their monopoly ends?

The Betfair Premium Charge has caused a lot of hysterical comment in the Betfair forum but I published a copy of a defence here from a Betfair employee four weeks ago and I’m philosophical about it. If what Betfair says is true – it needs to do it to keep attracting the losers some feed off – then so be it and the exchange model has failed. If it’s just spin then Betdaq won’t introduce similar when they become, as I do not doubt they will, a second exchange equal to Betfair.

In the meantime if it’s true and Betfair don’t back down then we’ll all benefit from the competition from Betdaq and we’ll be getting a discounted exchange there until Betdaq introduce it as well. Things will pan out. There are too many people in the Betfair forum writing too much but really have nothing to say that’s new now. It’s Betfair’s business. They can do what they want. Whether it’s right or not only time will tell.

I thought it is all about liquidity; active users of the exhcange. Does any one have the figures for Betfair and Betdaq?

  4. Will says

I found some fugures. Betfair bets Betdaq on user numbers so their liquidity is much better.

Actually after doing some research I decided to write a review of betfair and betdaq that I have posted on a website.

Have a look if your trying decide which to use.

Betting, Betdaq better than Betfair in Australia?
Betdaq certainly better than Betfair in Australia do you think the same?

Well i had an account with Betfair before and it really sucks. As they only offer betting on the telephone and you can’t bet online. If you want to do in-play betting and I find it easier doing it online, as I normally bet on footy and cricket. By the time you call Betfair the best odds are changed dramatically. Now i started using Betdaq and found it really great and much more convenient. To open an account all you have to do is send these documents to them your driving license, a utility bill and your credit card copy for identity check and you are all set to go. The liquidity that is their in betfair is more but still i hate when you have to call them all the time as the best odds can change in seconds. Specially when you are betting a reasonable amount in one game so liquidity does not matter much. Also the commission rate is less only 2.5% compare to 5% in betfair.
So I think Betdaq is better as it offers in-play betting online not over the phone. What do u think?
