There are several ways of tackling these – none of them are THE way to do it. You are advised to consider them all and make your own decision about which suits you best.

Risk category A Channel 4/ Feature race offers strategy (also greyhounds)

The offer involves backing a winner at 4-1 or more (2-1 for greyhounds) in specific races only, and getting a free bet to the value of your stake on the next race in the sequence. Note that there are 3 distinct offers here – channel 4, feature race and greyhounds. If you have a channel 4 winner you get the free bet on the next channel 4 race in the sequence, which can be up to a week ahead so you need to remember to be there to place the relevant bet. A feature race winner has a free bet on the next feature race, not on the channel 4 one, and so on. Occasionally both of these offers run alongside each other, when there is racing on both BBC and channel 4, and care is required not to get confused.

Since losers do not get a free bet, the obvious tactic here is to overlay, although value bettors and arbers would argue that the best returns are likely to be had from simply backing arbs and gaining a free bet for nothing if you hit a winner.

Bet365 currently have a guaranteed industry best price offer on all the TV races, which makes finding arbs there on the big meetings today somewhat easier.
