Friday 25th Koln v Hamburg
My first thought here was that the two teams are closely matched so I was surprised to see Koln quoted at odds on which I believe is poor value. Backing Hamburg though is a tough call as they don’t score regularly enough and being away they will set up defensively. Under 2.5 goals is around 1.73 (8/11) and that looks the percentage call at least from a trading angle although three of the last six meetings today between the two have been Over. If you do play this then trade to smallish stakes and one positive is that in the four recent head to head in Koln, all had goalless first halves.
Saturday 26th Bayer Leverkusen v Hoffenheim
Leverkusen lost their opening game away at Champions Bayern Munich but they had just under 50% of the possession and plenty of chances so the performance was there just not the result. Hoffenheim let us down last week but once again they played really well with most of the possession but couldn’t convert until a late goal bagged the points. Hoffenheim have t travel to England this week for a second leg of the Champions League Qualifiers and that just puts me off them even though they won this fixture last season. The games are usually close and it could well be a draw but if pushed I would suggest Both Teams To Score available at around 1.50 (1/2). That may be a little short but could be included in multiples.
Borussia Dortmund v Hertha Berlin
Dortmund will be bankers for many on the football this weekend but just one note of caution, in the last five meetings today of the two in Dortmund, Hertha managed two wins and a draw and took four points in the two games last season.
Werder Bremen v Bayern Munich
The other banker on the coupon, in Germany, Bayern Munich, look much more solid and have won the last thirteen meetings today against Bremen with the last seven games in Bremen seeing the home side fail to score in four of them.
Augsburg v Borussia M’gladbach
A game where I think the home side will win and they are a good price. In the last five meetings today of the two in Augsburg, there have been three draws and two home wins. In seven of the last eight meetings today overall, both teams have scored so we should be looking at an exciting contest with goals. Augsburg can be backed at 3.25 (9/4) which looks value but it may be safer to Lay the away side who have been heavily backed this week and are currently trading around 2.30 (13/10) and that gives us the draw on side.
Sunday 27th Hannover v Schalke
This is the game for goals this weekend so hopefully we can cash in. Eight of the last ten meetings today have gone Over 2.5 goals with all five of those in Hannover going Over 2.5, three going Over 3.5. In all five of those games both teams scored so that is also an angle but is priced at 1.66 (4/6). The Over 2.5 goals is available at 1.83 (5/6) and that may be worth chancing with a small stake on Over 3.5 goals at 3.25 (9/4).
