La Liga Trading Focus
Malaga v Espanyol
Malaga are on a bad run with no wins in nine games in all competitions. They have won five at home this season. Espanyol have won their last two and have lost just three away this season. The head to head in Malaga shows Espanyol have won on three of their last four visits and in the last nine head to head in total, Malaga have not won. At the odds either Lay Malaga or chance the away side, preference for the former.
Barcelona v Athletic Bilbao
Barcelona have won their last six league meetings today with Athletic. In Barcelona the scores in recent head to head were 6-0, 2-0, 2-1, 5-1, 2-0 and 2-1 so no obvious pattern there. Barcelona have lost once at home, Bilbao have not won in six away, scoring only three so their task is huge. Barcelona to win but they have been indifferent of late so difficult to call but they should be able to give up one on the handicap at around 8/13 (1.61).
Valencia v Eibar
These two have only met five times with three wins for Valencia and a draw and an Eibar victory. Valencia have won both meetings today when at home by 4-0 and 3-1 which probably edges the game in their favour. Valencia are slowly steadying the ship and are unbeaten in their last three at home. Eibar have won one and drawn two of their last five away so are no mugs on the road. The safest option here is to do Both Teams To Score, seven of Valencia’s eight home games and eight of none Eibar away games have seen both sides score.
Sevilla v Villarreal
Sevilla have had the better of recent meetings today winning five of the last ten head to head with three draws. Of those ten games, seven were Over 2.5 goals. The head to head results in Seville were 4-2, 2-1, 0-0, 1-2 and 3-2 so goals does look highly likely. Sevilla have won eight of nine games at home scoring in all and they have conceded in all bar two. Villarreal have won two and drawn five of nine away so are tough to beat. Sevilla to win and goals.
Real Sociedad v Osasuna
Sociedad are in fifth with Osasuna in 19th, and the saying the table doesn’t lie is usually spot on but Osasuna are playing better than that position indicates. Soc have won four and three draws in the last eight head to head where seven of the eight were Under 2.5 goals. At home, Sociedad have won six and drawn two of ten, with Osasuna winning just one away. It looks like a home win but just one note of caution, there have been three 0-0 draws in the last seven meetings today between the two. I’m leaving this one alone but if pushed Sociedad 2-0 or 2-1.
Celta Vigo v Real Madrid
This is usually a cracker and seven of the last eight have been Over 2.5 goals. Celta have won seven of the last eight at home with seven of those eight Over 2.5 goals. In Vigo, Real have won four of the last five and have won five and drawn two of eight away. Real to win and goals try 3-2 and 4-2 for small stakes fun bets.
