House Edge 0.46, Variance 1.14.
Blackjack is the game of choice for casino offers because of its low house edge and variance. If it is allowed, choose Single Deck Blackjack which has the lowest house edge (about 0.26), but for this reason this is often excluded from offers. It is getting harder to find Casino bonuses which allow Blackjack, and those that do usually give it a higher WR than slots by counting it as only 25% or less per unit staked. Even so it can be worth doing blackjack offers, particularly if you can automate it by using autoplay.
Most Microgaming casinos offer autoplay. There are videos below showing an offer being played at Ladbrokes on both multiple deck and single deck Blackjacks, on autoplay. Unfortunately offers like the one in the video are very rare nowadays.
For offers where there is no automation you will need a strategy table:
Other things you need to know if you are playing manually are that in some versions of Blackjack the dealer “peeks” ie looks at the 2nd card if the first card is an ace or a 10, in which case if he has blackjack the hand ends there. If the dealer doesn’t peek (as in European Blackjack and some other varieties), you should not double down or split when he has a 10 regardless of what your strategy table says. There is also sometimes the option to buy insurance when the dealer has an ace – this pays 2:1 if the dealer gets blackjack, but the house edge on insurance is usually high and you are advised to ignore it.
There is a detailed explanation of the game and its multitude of variations with different types of software etc here.
Autoplay At Ladbrokes Casino – Part One
Despite making a loss on the first part of this offer a useful exercise in showing how you can automate the wagering of a blackjack bonus at microgaming casinos using their downloaded software, in this case Ladbrokes. Once the bonus is credited we will play that out and update the final P/L figure.
Autoplay At Ladbrokes Casino – Part Two
Our £25 the bonus has now been credited and we can play this over on any game. We opt for Single Deck BlackJack, the lowest house edge you can get at the casino.
