Another heavyweight Premier League clash this weekend as we head into week seven when Manchester City travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool.

It’s a head-to-head clash that sees the current champions – Man City – take on the 2019-20 title winners – Liverpool – and one that will have a huge bearing on who’ll be top of the tree come May.

City have got their title defence back on track in recent weeks and head here full of confidence having beaten off another big player in Chelsea last weekend, while despite a good start, Liverpool’s winning run came to an end with a thrilling 3-3 draw away at Brentford last Saturday.

The match betting is understandably tight here too, with Liverpool on offer at 2.87, the draw 3.50 and City just the favourites at 2.37.

City took 4 points off Liverpool last season in the league and romped to an easy 1-4 in this fixture last term.

That said, Liverpool fans will know that they’ve lost only 4 of their last 17 in all competitions against City and have tasted defeated just the once at home in their last 21 (all comps) over City – winning 5 of their last 7 in front of their own fans against the current champions.

Both teams have scored in 5 of the last 6, so at 1.61 this will surely be a popular option – especially with an array of attacking options for both sides.

We’ve also seen 15 of the last 20 head-to-heads go OVER 2.5 GOALS, while 7 of the last 9 repeat fixtures – 3+ goals in the game can be backed at 1.72 and certainly looks another decent option.

Team news will be key when it comes to the scoring markets. Liverpool’s Diego Jota has hit the ground running this season with three league goals – he’s on offer at 8.00 (1^st) or 3.10 (anytime), while the usual suspects of Mo Salah 5.50 (1^st) or 2.30 (anytime) and Sadio Mane 8.00 (1^st) or 3.10 (anytime) are others to note – Salah scored a penalty in both head-to-heads last season.

City’s Jesus was on target in their 1-0 win over Chelsea last weekend and can be backed at 7.50 (1^st) or 3.00 (anytime), with Kevin de Bruyne 8.50 (1^st) and 3.25 (anytime) another option look at.

It’s a tricky game to call – the draw is sure to give backers a good run for their money. But, in a game that you’ not be shocked to see any of the three possible match results, then it could be safer to side with the ‘BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE’ option at 1.61 – a bet that’s paid out in 83% of the last 6 head-to-heads.
