The biggest Premier League clash this weekend is the Saturday lunchtime game as the current league champions – Man City – take on the champions of Europe – Chelsea – at Stamford Bridge.

City seem to be struggling in front of goal at the moment and head here off the back of a 0-0 draw with Southampton, while in contrast Chelsea come into the game off a 3-0 away win over London rivals Spurs.

Therefore, City are already on the backfoot a bit with regards to their title defence – they start week six in 5^th place on 10 points, with Liverpool, Man Utd and their opponents here – Chelsea – all on 13 points.

If we take a look at the match betting, it’s actually Chelsea that are favourites with most firms – but only just! The Blues are on offer around 2.62, with the Draw 3.25 and City at 2.75.

Chelsea fans will know though that this repeat fixture ended in a 1-3 defeat to City last season, but they will gain more confidence knowing the Blues have lost just 3 of their last 11 home league games against Man City.

You can back Chelsea or the Draw at 1.40 in the ‘Double Chance’ market.

It’s generally a fixture that produces goals too. ALL of the last five league head-to-heads saw OVER 2.5 GOALS, while 4 of the last 6 in all competitions also saw 3+ goals scored in the match. You can back Over 2.5 Goals at 2.00, which looks decent value.

Both teams have also scored in 4 of the last 6 meetings today, so linked into the Overs/Unders market is the both sides to find the back of the net option at 1.80.

With City lacking a real out-and-out striker, then they will be turning to several players like Torres, Jesus, Foden, Mahrez and Sterling, but – as always – with City team news for them is key.

That said, Kevin De Bruyne is normally a certain starter for City when fit, and with the Belgium man having scored in 3 of the last 4 head-to-heads, then he’s a player to respect in the scoring markets at 9.00 (1^st) or 3.75 (anytime).

Looking at Chelsea, then their new summer signing – Romelu Lukaku – who has already hit the ground running for his new club with three league goals, will be high on punter’s lists too – he’s 5.00 (1^st) or 2.30 (anytime).

Overall, it’s a game that will have big bearing on both teams as they challenge for the title. With home advantage for Chelsea and City struggling a bit in front of goal, then it’s hard to be mega confident with the champions. But they are obviously a team that you can’t write off with an array of talent.

With that in mind, the Over 2.5 Goals option looks fair value at 2.00 on a bet that’s paid out in ALL of the last five league encounters.
