La Liga continues this weekend and, as always, we’ve got the best of the action covered.
Friday 23rd November 2018
Leganes v Alaves
The first thoughts on this game are that the draw should probably be favourite. Alaves are the better of the two sides, but away from home will probably settle for not getting beaten, despite their good season so far. Leganes have drawn three of their last four matches, but they are tough to breakdown with eight of their last nine games being Under 2.5 goals and five of those nine games going Under 1.5 goals. In contrast, Alaves have scored in their last five away and in their last ten matches overall. In four recent head to head at this level, three ended level with one victory for Leganes. Overall, I think a Lay of Leganes at around 2.00 looks the best value.

Eibar v Real Madrid
These two have met eight times with one draw and seven wins for Real and six of the eight games ended Over 2.5 goals. Real’s new manager seems to have sorted their problems and they have won their last two league games and are unbeaten in four. Eibar have won three home games this season so will not be pushovers but Real seem to have found a bit of confidence and should win on a ground where they have scored twelve in four visits. Real Madrid -1 on the standard handicap at 2.25 offers us a little value.
Atletico Madrid v Barcelona
A top of the table clash and Atletico’s strong home form, they have won five and drawn one, means this will be a tough test for Barcelona. However, Barcelona own this fixture with twelve wins in the last sixteen head to head and seven wins in the last eight meetings today in Madrid, five of them by a 2-1 correct score. Atletico haven’t beaten them in those sixteen games, managing just four draws, only one of those at home. Options here with a Lay of Atletico a possibility but I prefer Over 2.5 goals at 2.10.
Sunday 25th November 2018
Espanyol v Girona
Last season was the first time the two have met at this level and both games ended in away wins. Espanyol have won all five home games this season conceding just one goal and Girona are unbeaten away scoring in all bar one. I think this will be a tight game with not a lot between the two and the first goal could be crucial. For a small stake try Under 1.5 goals at 3.00 with a view to trading out if we get to 60 minutes at 0-0.
Villarreal v Real Betis
The frustrating Betis managed to win in the Nou Camp and scored four goals in doing so. They are extremely capable on their day as also shown when winning in Milan in the Europa League, but they are also capable of losing games when leading, against inferior opposition. They are a nightmare for trading/betting so it is often better to leave their games alone, but Villarreal have a decent record against them and there may be an opportunity here. Betis have not won in seven meetings today and not won on five visits here, although two did end level. We could look at goals with the stats suggesting Unders as five of Villarreal’s six home games and five of Betis’s six away games ended Under 2.5 goals. I am prepared to chance Villarreal at 2.20 and trade out if they lead.
Sevilla v Vallodolid
Sevilla have won their last four home games scoring two or more goals in each of those four. They have lost just one of their last eight games. Valladolid have not won in three but had won their previous four games. They have lost just once in six away games this season. There is not a lot of relevant head to head form, but the four most recent games saw both teams score. Both to score at 1.73 is a little bit of value.
