Championship Play-offs
Swansea v Brentford
Brentford won both games in the regular season, 3-1 at home and 3-0 away and they have clearly been the third best side in the division. That means nothing now though, and they have hot a rocky patch on the last fortnight and it could be that their confidence is shot. Swansea had won the two previous meetings today and all the four games were Over 2.5 goals. Swansea come here after a miraculous turnaround with Forest and have absolutely nothing to lose and that makes them dangerous. Swansea have lost one of their last seven, winning four whilst Brentford lost their last two, but had won their previous eight. Four of Swansea’s last eight and five of Brentford’s last eight matches ended Over 2.5 goals.

Cardiff v Fulham
Fulham are probably the “form” side heading into the play-offs, but that guarantees nothing. In the regular season, the teams drew 1-1 at Cardiff with Fulham winning 2-0 at home. There have been six draws in the last ten meetings today, with just one win for Cardiff. Both teams scored in the last four head to head in Wales. Fulham ended the season well, unbeaten in seven. Cardiff won their last three to guarantee their play-off spot. Four of their last five games ended Over 2.5 goals. Fulham had five of their last six games finish under, with the other ending 5-3.
Extra Championship Play-off Info
In the last six years of the play-off semi-final first legs, there were five away, four draws and just three home wins. Eight of those twelve games ended Under 2.5 goals, so games are tight, perhaps with the away sides a little bit more adventurous as they have the home leg still to come. Only one of those games saw a side score three, Hull away at Derby and that was courtesy of a 98th minute third goal.
It is very tempting to go with the obvious Under 2.5 goals in both games, at 4/5 and 4/6 respectively. There has been a lot of money already for
Brentford, as punters seem to think they can recover, although a lot of that may be to do with Swansea playing better away from home. Cardiff and Fulham looks a banker 1-1 draw and that might be worth a little interest. The other option being Both Trams To Score at 1.83.
On reflection the trades are……………………..
Swansea v Brentford Under 2.5 goals and Cardiff v Fulham Both Teams To Score.
