Friday 20th December 2019
Middlesbrough v Stoke
Boro’s home form is better than Stoke’s away form but that doesn’t tell the full story. Both have been poor, but both have shown signs of turning things around. Unsurprisingly, the two games last season were both Under 2.5 goals with the game here ending 1-0 and with 1.80 available for Unders, that will do as a trading option.
Saturday 21st December 2019
Cardiff v Preston
Six recent head to head with Preston winning three and one draw. Preston have recovered from four defeats to win their last two and Cardiff have lost just once in six games. Both teams to score at 1.80 seems a fair enough shout here.
Fulham v Leeds
Fulham have hit a bad patch with three defeats and the last side they would want to play is Leeds who are unbeaten in eleven. Fulham’s main hope is that five of the last six meetings today were draws including two of the last three at Craven Cottage. Purely down to that stat, Lay Leeds at 2.10 with a view to trading.
Huddersfield v Nottm Forest
Forest have not won in four, but their away form has been good, with just one loss in eleven. Since their seven-game unbeaten run, Huddersfield only won one of the next seven. No stand out stats but it is probably worth laying Huddersfield at 2.80 as a trading angle.
Reading v Derby
In the last six head to head at Reading, there have been three draws and three wins for Derby. The last five overall head to head were Over 2.5 goals and the last seven head to head saw both teams score. This is the kind of fixture that Derby might go and win, and at 4.00 they will have a few backers, but at 2.10 we will go with Over 2.5 goals.
Hull v Birmingham
Hull have won the last five meetings today at home and are in slightly better form than the visitors who have won one of their last eight. Hull have won three of their last four at home and it is their form on their own ground which swings it here. Hull at 1.91 and trade for the stake back if they lead.
QPR v Charlton
No relevant recent head to head so on current form you would probably side with QPR although trusting either is fraught with danger. The safest option here has to be Over 2.5 goals.
West Brom v Brentford
This could be a cracker as West Brom have lost just once this season and Brentford have won eight of their last eleven. Only the two meetings today at this level with the game here ending 1-1. It is difficult to oppose West Brom as they never know when they are beaten and 2.00 looks a reasonable price here even though it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise if Brentford pushed them all the way.

Sheff Wed v Bristol City
No real stand out stats in the recent head to head but Wednesday have won three of the last five meetings today in Sheffield. Bristol City have lost their last two, but they were at home and they have lost only two away this season. Wednesday have not lost in five and both teams have been amongst the goals. Both teams to score at 1.73 seems a logical play here.
